I just want two. I like having a pikachu AND a raichu of all the event things.

I do too! I did see where someone evolved a Party Hat Pikachu and the Raichu kept the hat. I think I need about 5 more candies to be able to evolve another Raichu.

I have not seen a single Pikachu, party hat or otherwise.
Instead I've succesfully caught a Pineco, Stantler, Aipom, Mamoswine, Lanturn, Yanma, Azumarill and Ariados.
Going to a new area today, hopefully I'll run into a Pikachu in a more populated area.
