Oh, I remember that title!
Never read it though, but that's one of those stories with magic and cute guys.
Which reminds me of Fushigi Yugi - which has nothing to do, storyline-wise, but was also packed with cute guys.

I think i watched the original version of Fruits Basket but i never watched or read anything else of it.

The creator of the manga was SOOO pissed at the original anime that she refused to allow a second season.

Many Years LATER!!! Another studio approached her and she came up with some conditions:

Update/Fresh art. She was sick when she drew Fruits Basket so she hated the art in the manga.

No one, NO ONE associated with Studio Dean nor anyone who took part in the original anime are to come near the remake.

Music has to be new

Nothing is to be cut out unless she agrees to it. (the backstory of the MC's parents was cut out, only because it's getting it's own spin off anime)


When Studio Deen made the original anime, they cut out a hat which has major importance later on in the series.
Changed the color of Kyo's bracelet beads, and the color had MAJOR history.
Ignored her when she tried to inform them of a certain character's ACTUAL gender and to NOT draw this character in a certain way...

There were other changes but those are the ones I can remember that she argued with the director with. And things got heated between the two, soooooooo yea... o3o she pretty much boycotted Studio Deen from ever working on her stuff again. Took fans, and studios (even Funimation would send pleas and paper cranes) years to get her to agree to a remake o3o


AND REMAKE WE GOT AND IT COVERS MOST OF THE MANGA!!! (again, Tohru's parents back story is getting its own side anime) The series.. is finally complete QwQ Just waiting on the BD LE release GIB!

Ahhh i know of downloaded a few episodes of the new Fruits Basket anime but ive never watched it lol.
