Yeah it looks like it's hitting summer here
Fortunately at my summer job they're gonna put me on glow once it starts and that starts and ends later so I'll miss the heat
Yay

It's been crazy hot here. Up to the 90s. We didn't get a spring at all. Lol.

What is glow?

Our shift starts at six. In theory some start at five to stock carts but usually not lol
We go out at seven with the carts full of light up swords, wands, headbands, etc (they're the small two tier carts you usually find at grocery stores)
Walk around the park selling for a couple hours
Head back at nine
Nine-thirty we go out and set up the booth for the light show. Booth is when the hoops (as shown in the video) come out. They're too bulky to walk around with, and are the most expensive toy to get (everything else runs $5-13, most are $10, the hoops are $20), so they're saved for the booth
At least two at the booth when we are selling. At most three
The rest take their carts and hang out nearby. One goes between booth and glow room, by the nightly light show
One goes by where it's technically a park entrance (light show area is technically in campgrounds, but it's still shown more as part of the park)
If we have a fifth, and they're not also at the booth, chance are they'll be stuck with a different gimmick (I was once. It was boring I prefer playing with my hoops)

Ohhh, glow! Duh. Lol. Glow stuff is so pretty. I always thought it was ridiculously expensive though. I am very cheap. Lol.

The humidity is definitely worse than the actual heat. I'm not able to survive humidity. I'm not really used to a dry heat but it is easier to deal with than humidity.

Cheap shitty boring foam batons with a tiny lifespan and goes in time with the show so people panic every time cuz they think it died: $5
Unicorn wands, Minnie bows, couple things that don't sell so they never go out anymore: $8
Mohawk, guns, literally every sword: $10
Bubble guns, customizable toy, both of which never sell so they don't go out unless lots of people on glow: $13
Hoop: $20

Maybe if you could change the batteries it woul be worth it. I'm glad I don't have to worry about children harping at me to buy them silly things like that. Lol. Even when i was a kid I thought they were a little riduculous. I want a toy that's gonna last a while. Especially if it costs that much.

Yes they're all battery powered. The others are either AA or AAA, the batons have tiny watch batteries, hence tiny lifespan

I did have a little girl have a meltdown last night
Her mom and her sister picked a unicorn toy for her
She had a meltdown cuz she didn't pick it
So
Bend down behind counter, grab other two colors
She picked the same one she had before
No meltdown now, cuz hey she picked it
Her mom caught on that it was the same one

I never knew you could exchange the batteries. That's nice. I bet they use crappy batteries. Ones that need to be replaced real quick. I always buy some sort of name brand batteries. I've tried generic but they're horrible. Lol.

Kids are weird.

Well the batons also have some sort of Bluetooth connection or some such to go with the show too, and there's all sorts of color changes, blinking, flashing, etc, so they're gonna wear right out
