So the panda thing is basically an allegory for puberty.
Chinese Canadian girl wants to respect her parents (mom mainly) and never let them down, while at the same time wants to be a proper teen with her friends.
But the views of her mother clash with what she and her friends do so lots of secrets and stuff happen.. teenagey stuff.
yea.. o3o best I can do ...
its funny... love the dad ovo the dad needs some love.

Lol maybe i’ll check it later. Like….when it gets released into digital version. Or if my sister decides she wants to watch it and we can watch it on the smart tv. XD i’m sure my parents would like to watch it just for the kicks and giggles. AND they might be able to relate to some of it lol. XD being chinese canadians living in toronto and all that. XD even if they didn’t come here when they were kids.

Where you live is so weird, DK.
Nothing like what happens to you happens here ._.
My mom's been dealing with Social Security for years and with food stamps and all of that.
She finds what's happening to you very confusing.
I'm happy your counselor has your back, though.
That's a really good thing.
I heard people complaining about the movie.
Saying it's not for kids and it's racist.
Like...EH?

My dad made a post yesterday or the day before, saying a good man died on the twin bridges and asking people to pray for him and his family.
I was curious about that, but I didn't ask him.
My mom later told me that this guy my dad worked with died in a car accident on the bridge.
Says online that they had a wreck and three of them got out to check out the damage and stuff.
Well, someone came driving up on them and just rammed into them :\
The guy my dad worked with was only 31 and I think he recently became a dad and now he's dead.
Why? Because someone didn't slow the fuck down.
Or was drunk or not paying attention.
That's so fucking sad.
Also, my neighbor found a dead gray cat by their driveway...
My mom thought it was Momo but it wasn't.
We think it was Whisper...

I've read some reviews of Red Panda, and it looks really cool.
I usually love Pixar movies, so I would not be surprised if I loved this one too.
Bad thing is I don't think my son will get it. He's still a bit too young to understand anything about puberty.
And my husband does not like this sort of movies.
So I'll probably have to watch it alone :|

I hadn't really heard of it until recently ._.
I need to look into watching some of the recent movies that have come out.
I started paying for Disney+ again so I should probably make use of it xD;
I don't even remember puberty...I remember getting my period and hating it.
I remember trying to skip school every month on the first day of my period.
I honestly don't know what was hormones and what was my depression and anxiety disorder blooming xD

I didn't think it was racist. But then again, I'm not Asian so I probably didn't realize something was racist. >A<
As a child I never understood anything that the adults saw in movies.. It was a fun movie to me. I could hear adults going "is this really alright for children?"
Hell.. I probably wouldn't have paid any attention to the fact that it was basically about coming of age/puberty if Ruru hadn't pointed it out.. =w= I'm still that simple minded x'D
Though as an adult I do see some of the things they saw in those older movies and I think "Oh wow.. how did I not realize this back then!!" xD

i don't know if its racist til i watch it. xD i read the summary online but didn't really see anything racist about it except maybe the bullying? but.....i'd have to see it to determine if it was racist or not lol.

Ah so then its probably fine. I’ll see if i can watch the movie this weekend with my parents. They might want to watch the james bond movie first before it expires…xD
