Not having the slightest idea is another story. Bf said he has no idea what to buy me. I said it's okay because I've the same problem XD I ordered books for both of us and said it's the xmas presents for us so we're free to not buy anything else, lol.

I got him new shoes, but I want to get him something else too, and as far as my brother is concerned anything I think of getting him, he just buys himself.

I wish he would get me a book. I love new books!

I'd be too unsure to buy bf shoes, becaus ehe's so picky with clothes and all that. He's actually picky with everything...

It's my first book I enjoy in years... Others I had to read for my studies and such.

He's picky too so I bought them with him. I don't care if he knows about it. I just want it to be something he's going to like.

I haven't read that one. The last book I got a gift was called Quiet. Its a good read.

Yeah, it's pretty practical when you just go shopping with that person and they choose their gift :qsml:

I bought the trilogy about Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children. I like it so far :)

I've only read the first book. I loved it, but I never bothered to get the rest of them.

I'm about halfway through the first one. Bought all three at once because there was a discount and free delivery if you cross a certain amount, and because I really needed a good book that I wanted to read, since last time I read something for my own pleasure was probably about 4-5 years ago... and I love books, but I became pretty picky :qhehe:

I'm actually someone who's easy to buy gifts for --I feel like anyone who is into fandom stuff is, to a certain degree. I have shelves and boards and walls full of merch, and I love adding stuff to my collection. XD

I also like woodland themes, so people often get me owls or I'd buy fox and deer items.

Buying gifts for others can be hard, but I feel like if you're observant, you might be able to get some good hints as to what they like or need. For example, I had such a difficult time trying to find something for my cousin, but then I remembered he converted one of the rooms of his house into an office, and I decided to get him a corkboard/whiteboard for him to use.

I also keep feeling like if I make more mental notes when talking to my friends throughout the year, I can find them better gifts once Christmas hits.

I have pinterest boards of wishlists.

Though I said no to doctor who things this year unless it's season 10 boxset. But I think no one got that for me and I just hope Peter can get it for me soon.

I decided I have some money still so will see if he'll let me put that towards getting it with the last christmas doctor who dvd too.

As for getting Peter anything he said I don't have to and so I haven't =/ so I guess if he doesn't let me put towards something for the dvd's I'll use it for his birthday present which I don't have yet. His birthday is 10th Jan.

Nice. I make a list on Amazon, but that's about it.

Oh, I see.

Aha, a lot of people tell me I don't have to get them anything, but I tend to do so anyways? For me, I feel like if I get obligatory gifts for people like my coworkers, it feels wrong not to spend money getting something for folks I actually am close to.

I've been reflecting about it this year, especially with family. They do so much for me, and sometimes I feel like I take them for granted, especially since they do things freely without expecting anything in return. Although I feel the same way to them, it's because they are so good to me that I want to put in that effort of appreciation.
