Not really. )= I could tell them that I have a set availability, but then they only have to give me a minimum of 12 hours if I do that. And I can't live off of 12 hours... so I just work what I'm told. )=
It really makes things hard, though. Since I don't have set days off, I can't make plans for the following week until Friday of the current week. And even then, it's not like I can say "Oh, well I work this shift every day I work, so I can make plans any day after this time." because it's always different. Like this week. I worked 7a-3:30p, off (but I got called in for 5-9p), 8a-4:30p, 12:30p-9p, off, 8a-4:30p, off.
While that one's pretty straight forward and the only real disadvantage is the close-open-close sequence, usually you have 10:30a-7p, 9:30a-6p, 6a-2:30p, 11:30a-8p, and other various shifts sprinkled in there.
And while I know this is a job, and that's just how it is, there are several people back there who get the "this is what I work every week" schedules. They know they're off day A and B, and they know they work X shift every day they work. And it just makes me aksjaelgeh.
End of rant, I promise. >.>;
