I agree. I didn't notice before, but there appears to be not much change between genders. I have a female avatar so it wouldn't matter for me, but it might deter others from getting the set if it's too feminine for them.

Congrats, Vindrae! It's a very beautiful set and I'm excited to see Firn's release of it. :mcglee:
Congrats also to all the other winners~! There's a few others that placed that I really liked, so I'm glad. 8'D

I didn't participate simply because of bad timing, though I did realize sets are harder to design than individual item ideas, heh. Would've been more fun if I wasn't so busy to have time to figure things out. I'm happy that a lot of people participated in this one though! :mclaugh:

I love Lunar Night Twilight`s fourth place win, but I wish the favorably mentioned idea had won instead. Either way, both of Twilight`s concepts are great! I look forward to owning them!

I wonder if in the future should anything like this be done again that there is a focus on making more of a difference between the female and male avis? I was disappointed with most things because it's all so girly and even these winners have not much there for someone who may want to have a male avi.

Yes, I know that the vast majority here are female and like the girly things but a little variety would be nice. Maybe having designs have more of a difference between the genders than just a flat chest, you know? This is something I find incredibly boring.

Just my thoughts for what it's worth.

Personally I usually try to make at least alterations of dresses not being puffy on male avatars along with giving male versions the obvious flat chest, but other than that it is usually difficult. There were one or two entries I even rejected because the male and female versions looked completely different, to the extend where it were just two completely different items and that should not be the case. So it is usually very tricky to find a balance between altering a dress or shirt for male and female avatars, while still keeping the basic idea of the shirt the same.

And about more male items in the Treasure Trove: I only had this discussion with some users in the forums recently and personally I do not consider male items in the Treasure Trove a good idea to begin with. Avatar sites have a mostly female user base as "dressing up" is just more in the nature of women than men and the items in the Treasure Trove need to have a great popularity among the overall user-base, because this site needs donations in order to keep existing. Whenever we had sets in the Treasure Trove or as Monthly Treasure that were less girly, they have always been less popular than girly sets. People have always gotten less of them than usual. Also, there were a few more male entries in this contests, like, basically all of AlkseeyaKC's entries were very male, and only one made it into the top 10, while all the others ranked rather low. I know there are always some individual users who want more male avatar items here, but most don't. ( and by that I mean, they aren't against more male items and would not mind them, but if there was a manly set in the TT, they would most likely not get it) If all, I would reserve these for shop common items, for items where it is really important that a great majority of users like them, it is too risky.

Hmm, I can understand this but it's just something I found really disappointing about the entries. I wouldn't even see the point in having a male avi to begin with when the male version is essentially the same. Why would I want to be a boy if I still look like I'm wearing a darn dress? :\

I've always brought up the kimono from the last design contest as an example. At least with that there was enough of a distinction between the female and male versions. Or like the water 1 top from the digging items perhaps. Clearly different enough.

When it comes to official stuff, I don't know. At least doing away with ribbons and frills and things could be enough for the male? I guess that's for another discussion anyway but yeah, none of these winners interest me much at all which is a shame but I didn't expect much different.

Anyway, just my opinions. :qhehe:

Congratulation to all the winners.

There were some other entry's that I would have liked to have seen on the list but I think that the list now is to the right items.

Hopefully we would also get an art contest for items to the regular shops too, like the one we had earlier (AliceON's Leafsash, Wallflower's Garment,...).

Oh, that was quick.
I'm glad so many entries that I like are among top 10.

Congratulations :mchappy:
