I have no problem with all the white in the tables or content. That is all fine and good. I love the design on everything. I just felt the page background could be another color. Those blues and greens would look awesome! I even say bring the threes inward more. I've hardly seen what they look like. :mchappy:

I'm happy you are considering the feedback. :qh:

I love this new layout. It looks so much more clean and modern. As always, thank you for the work you do.

I do like that softer blue. o: It's a little less jarring, somehow.

The site is so pretty now! It was pretty before, don't get me wrong, but it looks so nice and clean and crisp now. It looks more modern. I especially appreciate the drop down menu's at the top. They were trying at times before and now they're not! The background makes me feel like i'm up in the clouds, above the world in the Kingdom of Knuffels. Wonderful, lovely job and as always, thank you for your hard work.

Well, this has made me realize one thing...my screen is so small that I have to zoom out three times from default in order to see the whole background. So perhaps I am getting a greater percentage of white than people with larger computers.

Of course light sensitivity is something that is not only harmful of Kofk. But it's not something that is fixed through screen calibration either. (For word documents and the outdoors, I have a special pair of sunglasses. Unfortunately for pages with a lot of color they make it slightly worse instead.) So yes, those other sites hurt us too. But for me personally, I spend no more than five minutes there on an irregular basis (for the ones I use at all), whereas KofK was somewhere I spent several hours nearly every single day.
As Alice said, I'm shrinking the window to the size of the contents, which works well for the forums. However, this doesn't work on the quickfeed page (and others with the same gradient) since it only becomes a tolerable brightness about halfway down. Even if the background's not changed (and thank you for considering a modification), would it be possible to adjust the gradient on these pages to start from a darker shade?

Multiple themes are always a nice option, but I recognize that they are a lot of work - even large sites like dragcave have had to decrease the number of theme options because of all the testing required to keep them working with each update. So they likely take more time than you and Starkad are able to spend; which is my reason for requesting a single, non-painful background rather than the ability to choose between multiple.

On the frames: Is it possible to give them a transparent background? Then they would work not only here and on sites with white backgrounds, but sites with other colors too :mchappy:

As Kimi said, I also have to zoom out in order to see the Entire background. Right now, I see like, 1cm x 2 cm of the leaves on either side.

I like the new shade of blue, but that's no surprise. It's my favourite shade of blue. But I don't think I'll see the majority of it since my screen is so small. Maybe it'd work better if the trees were moved more to the centre and diminish the area that's white.

As someone has mentioned, when I get on youtube, I either have a music video on and then open a tab with a dark website or have the video on full screen so that I don't have to look at the whiteness.

Plus, with websites like Youtube or Amazon, it's full of small boxes of stuff that there isn't that much negative space to focus on. KofK, there's quite a bit of negative space that is now white. It makes me think that the page hasn't loaded all the way.

My favorite color is blue so I am heavily biased to a more blue site. ^,^

I do have a suggestion though. Since some people can't see the pretty trees, why not CSS3 the background? (Assuming you're only using CSS2 level stuff.) Have the clouds on one layer, the right trees on a layer, and the left trees on another. The clouds would be on the same background settings as they are now, and then the trees would be set to always appear in their corners no matter how big the browser was. Er, within reason. I always set a min-width on all my sites so that way there aren't too many weird issues from shrinkage. I guess a cm or two of space between the closest edges of the branches at the smallest size wouldn't garble the background?

Something like this:
background-image: url("left-trees.png"), url("clouds.jpg"), url("right-trees.png);
background-position: top left, center, top right;
background-repeat: no-repeat;

I'm not sure if it was mentioned, but when I'm using menu bar and want to open a new tab with my scroll button, page opens in new tab AND current tab. I tried hard refresh, but it didn't do anything.

So, I have toying around with a few options today. Just throwing this out here, so people can give feedback on it, if they wish to.

I still prefer the all white background and find it extremey difficult to find a blue shade that is not looking either too dull or too bright. :qcry:
