I don't even try for the others because why waste the functional items when I spent all those food points to get them?

Yes, she's been releasing them (quite slowly, but they still are coming).

Water has the ChipChip Fountain.
Light has the Firefly Jar (Lightning Bug Jar?)
Dark has the Fortune Teller Dark Orb.

When there's a knuffel I know I'm going to keep and use for digging, I do a lot of that trick of raise-it-to-level-30-and-drop-and-readopt it.
If I do it 5 times, it pays for an apple-and-cupcake set, and all 3 of the digging items.

You really have a system there.

I still haven't sat down and actually graphed out which is the best level to do the readopt thing at, in terms of gold-gained-per-xp.

I did a plain spreadsheet, considering only the money you earn for sure (from leveling up plus from giving up). According to which:
- if you are just planning to readopt, level 20 is the optimal one
- if you want to readopt and pay off a cupcake, level 30 is the optimal one
- if you want to readopt and pay off a cupcake and an apple, it would go up to level 60


But maybe that's too much info for a Newbie Guide xD

Knuffel only version. LEVEL 20:
Profit: 4000
Readoption price: 1900.
Benefit: 2100
Benefit per XP: 1,058

Knuffel + cupcake version. LEVEL 30:
Profit: 6000
Readoption price: 1900.
Cupcake price: 1700
Benefit: 2400
Benefit per XP: 0,536

Knuffel + cupcake + apple version. LEVEL 60:
Profit: 12000
Readoption price: 1900.
Cupcake price: 1700
Apple price: 1400
Benefit: 7000
Benefit per XP: 0,389

In my opinion, the best choice is not the one which brings a better benefit (which is, obviously, level 100) but higher benefit per XP.
I usually don't buy neither cupcake nor apple, but I stick to giving them up between level 20 and 30.
