You could get a thimble to protect your fingers. I end up with painful calluses whenever I try knitting.

Did you mom used to crochet a lot or was it just something she learned because that's what women were expected to know, so she knew it? A few times when I want one of my elders to teach me something, they say they "know how" because they had to know how, but they aren't actually any good at it, and that I should find a better teacher. It always astonishes me. So much mostly these days is things you have to know that are intangible skills, and here is a group of people who were expected to know craft or trade skills instead. It's a big shift.

I've seen those kinds of house shoes. Are they comfortable at least?

Maybe we could start an internet crochet/knitting circle. That would be interesting.
oOh, that is a cute saying! I don't think I've ever heard it either.
My grandmother was AMAZING at crocheting. She would make tiny doll clothes for Barbies. So beautiful. She would enter them in the local fair and often win.

It'd be good to hear more details. Certainly it sounds like a lot of us are interested in that kind of craft!

I'm not sure how it would work but I see it as a thread we can talk about our projects, how we're doing and how our experience is. What we plan on doing next, what kind of tips we do to make it easier, etc. XD I get nerdy with it even though Im not good at all. I would love to learn more about it.

Hm, that might be good! I would not be making much progress with my projects, but I bet if there were something like that I would make more progress than I am now...

Thas how I would feel about it too. I dont make any progress or even try to get somewhere but I feel like if there were a lot of people to talk too, I might be motivated to show off mine(but I would have to do it to show it so it'd help me xD).

I wonder if it would go in the art area, as a crafting art?
We could even do little encouraging things for each other like pledging FPs or small prizes to everyone who completed a weekly goal...

Yeah thats sounds great. Because it would help with motivation for that and help us out on this site~ ohhh Im getting excited lol xD
I feel like maybe it should go in the art area.
If I can get started, I think Im gonna try and make a blanket. xD I really wanna make blankets and socks at first.
