Yeah, I'm jealous of the people that are super close to their moms. It sounds cool.
My husband and I both don't have dads so we're kinda on our own here. lol.
LittleJulez - Thanks hun. That's the system, I guess. Trying to screw me over at any chance.

I hope we get an extension.
My dad passed away in 2011.
But while I loved him, imo I don't think he was the best dad he could have been.

Aw sorry to hear this.
I was always daddy's girl, too. Even though I don't talk much with my dad though :D I think he always loved to have a girl after 3 boys. Still, that made my life more difficult :D

light: Super good to hear... that she's gotten better! Any improvement is still improvement.
I would say I'm close to my mom, but I think others wouldn't perceive it that way. But that's just how my family is haha
River: *hugs* :'o

@River: I can relate, as much as I love my dad, he didn't do a great job with the whole fatherhood thing. In fact I was dead mad at him for a long time.
But my mom didn't do that great either. I must acknowledge they both tried though, and that's enough for me after years of being super angry with them.
@Julez: I always considered myself daddy's girl, but funny enough my dad didn't want me (but was kinda right, they couldn't afford a second kid and mom just seduced him XD) and when mom said she's preggo he said he ain't taking care of me. And then he did and was super happy about me (lol, dads) . Even though he "didn't want me" he always told me we have a greater bond than him and my older sister, which agrees with what I've always felt.

Like he was great in my younger years but as I got older we disagreed a lot.
I also didn't like how treated my brother either. Like sure my brother is lazy and stuff but the attitude to him wasn't great.

That's the thing. When you start to disagree with your parents you are too complicated to deal with often. And that is usually strongly connected to growing up.
mem:
*high five* go daddy's girls xD
It's nice that both you and your dad perceive it the same way :)

I think far too many see kids as extensions of themselves rather than individual people and so their kid disagreeing with them breaks that notion, or at least challenges it, and they cannot handle it
