I think I was not very much of a daddy's girl as a kid, that was more my sister, I always got along well with our mom. As I have grown up that has changed though, I feel a lot closer to my dad and more at ease with him whereas my mum has a tendency to stress me out nowadays. But in general I can't really complain, I think they both did a good job at being parents to me. Of course there's some things that I'm not happy about, but overall my impression is positive.

Kit, that is a good point!
Chrizine, yea, things might change.
And I feel you, my Mum always stresses me out. Always.

Moms are weird.
I hope I'm not a weird mom. Well I know I'm weird but ... I want my future kids to trust me with anything at all.

@Julez: *high fives* :D
@Nikki: right? I sometimes think "man, I'm a weird-ass B, what if I'm gonna be a weird-ass mom? I don't want to fuck up my kids like my parents did" XD
Let's be honest, all parents fuck their kids up one way or another

I guess it's just super hard to avoid. But you can try to fuck them up as little as possible, at least ;)
And I do think that going for a relationship built on trust with your kids is a good starting point, Nikki :)
It's fine to be a weird mom, just be the good and fun kind of weird ;)

That is my goal: to always be the good and fun kind of weird. In all aspects of life. LoL.

My husband's mom was pretty good. She is way too lenient though. My husband's personality made it so he didn't take advantage of that too terribly, but his brother is quite spoiled. His brother is a good guy mostly but you can tell he was super spoiled as a kid.
Like neither of them knew how to do any sort of house work. I had to teach my husband how to wash and fold laundry. lol. Thankfully Kevin (my husband) is a really good cook, so I forgive him.

Dad actually wanted me to argue back but then didn't like it when I did.

That seems pretty silly.
I never argued much with my mom. I just tried to avoid her as much as possible.

Wow, Kevin is lucky that he can cook, otherwise you would have all the house work
First I argues with my Mum, but when I realized that she never stops screaming that way I went to just saying "mhm" and "yes" all the time.
I want to be a good mum, too (obviously). I want a boy and a girl (maybe one additional child), if possible.
I like that my parents gave us quite a lot of freedom regarding going to bed, playing games on the computer/playstation etc., I'd like to do the same with my children. But I wouldn't want them to lie on where they are going or where they are sleeping over as I used to do it sometimes.
