Grandpa is very much he covers it all no one else is allowed to pay, so he covers the tip too

Has anyone told him he's supposed to tip at least 20%?
Those servers need money to survive.

He's in his 90s, tips like it's the 30s
He's been told a few times, but at his age, he's been remembering Polish, which he hasn't used since he was a kid, so it's not surprising that larger tips are normal is something he forgets

Hmmm. I guess that's understandable.
If that's the case I'm sure it would be very easy to wait until he left the table and leave a 10 or 20 for the server. Or even pull the server to the side to hand it to them on the way to the bathroom or something.

We generally leave all at the same time, so kinda hard lol
