I don't know. It's not very liquid so it probably wouldn't go through the pricked holes in the pattern very well. But I've never tried it. If it washes out, then you may as well try -you'll have lost nothing but some time and a bit of glue, if it doesn't work.

Well I thinking just smearing it on around the pattern and then letting it dry. Maybe I could feel the glue after it dries? Who knows.
What are you up to tonight?

If your pattern is cut out, then you can just use masking tape instead of the glue, and peel it off, after.
(tape down one side of the pattern; cut the pattern free of the tape leaving half the tape still on the fabric, repeat around the edge)
I am... being foolish. I should be asleep.

You are a genius! I'm totally gonna have to do that. I have lots of masking tape for my perler art.
Aw, why foolish?
Sleep is elusive for me tonight. I have tummy issues.

I'll be honest, most of the 'sewing' I do is patching, or hemming, or sewing a button back on, or mending a rip.
All of which is much simpler and doesn't use a pattern.
So my tricks for pattern transfer are a little out of date, and I don't really have sharp memories any longer for which ones worked well and which ones were just 'better than nothing'.
I was foolish because I was on here instead of going to sleep, so I was setting myself up for being very tired the next day. Which I was. But one goes on, anyhow.

You could get a thimble to protect your fingers. I end up with painful calluses whenever I try knitting.
Korean people say a tiger must have gotten married if it rains while it's sunny out.
That is an amazing saying and I am going to use it as soon as I get a chance!
Awesome!
I use it whenever I get a chance, too!Did you mom used to crochet a lot or was it just something she learned because that's what women were expected to know, so she knew it? A few times when I want one of my elders to teach me something, they say they "know how" because they had to know how, but they aren't actually any good at it, and that I should find a better teacher. It always astonishes me. So much mostly these days is things you have to know that are intangible skills, and here is a group of people who were expected to know craft or trade skills instead. It's a big shift.
I'm not entirely sure. I've never seen her crochet herself but she used to be very crafty before I was born/when I was very small. It could be that she learnt it because she wanted to but ended up not using it very often, or it could be she did used to do it until she couldn't find time anymore. She taught the daughter of a family friend, though.
Hope y'all got some rest.
I haven't really done any "fancy" sewing myself since home-ec. I "darned" my stocking this morning, though. The air-quote is because I don't actually know how to properly darn socks and such. I just sewed it up until the hole closed. It looks like a suture turned into a spider web on drugs.

Tora_Fujimoto - I feel like I am also in a state of perpetual exhaustion. I hope that you got well rested.
It did for a while now it's lame again. I continually have issues.
It's good to learn some basic stitching for fixing holes and stuff in clothes.
Akili Li - Same here. Mostly hemming and patching. But I figured if I could do that it wouldn't be too far a cry to figure out how to make some simple designs. lol.
Ah, I feel like many people spend more time on the internet then they should. I have a bad habit of eschewing sleep for a lil more time on here as well. lol.
Sunlight - Man, I wanted to take home ec but they wouldn't let me. Jerks. There should be college home ec too.
I've never sewed up socks before because someone told me it was bad for your health to wear sewed up socks. Also when mine get holes in them they're usually thread bare so there's not really any point.
I really like your description of your sewing. lol.

Really? I think it was mandatory in middle school for me. And the women's centre hosted a crafting event called Stitch and Bitch at my university. It has since changed its name to the milder Craft Night. Maybe there are something like that at your college.
Is that so? I guess I can see that. It was just a hole on the bottom, though. And it was a stocking and I just don't want to throw out the entire stocking because of the hole... especially since I have trouble finding warm, woolen stockings these days. It's all tights now.
lol Maybe I should take a picture.

I wish it was mandatory here. They should teach a lot of things about being an adult that they don't. How to budget, how to do taxes, how to watch out for pyramid schemes.
Aw, that's cute. I would love to stitch and bitch. Lame that they changed the name.
My college is a pretty crappy community college so I don't think they even have any clubs like that. So lame.
Yeah, I don't know how real the danger is. It might have just been something dangerous for people with certain conditions or maybe just a rumor she heard.
I can understand that. Nice clothes can be hard to find.
Do it. Lol.
