I live rural..
the nearest similar or bigger sized town is an hour and half away. Sure there's smaller towns in between but still.
I'm very much far away from the cities.
The closest what I consider a city town is Tamworth. And that's still a regional place.
no it's still hot though today's sunrise was covered up by clouds a bit so that was nice. Normally sun sets at 8 which is now, but the clouds covering meant I could open up the flat earlier.

Hmmm, your response is implying that the language use is changing on me.
As I understood it, something local to you was in your near environs, and city or rural had nothing to do with it.
Whereas something in your region was something within a much larger area (region) around you, and again city or rural had nothing to do with it.
But the way you answer makes me think that either "local" or "region" has changed its meaning and now implies something about cities or country? Can you let me know which word it is, and what it implies? I don't want to misuse it.

Yeah local is nearby
Unless things are different in Australia or there's a misunderstanding somewhere

Speaking of trees, we had one that was at least 50 years old.
It ended up rotting and we had to cut it down.
It was my swinging tree.
It's funny, but I find trees amazing.
What things have they been through in 50 years or more?
To see such an old thing have to be cut down like that made me sad.
I've seen lightning storms before. When I was a kid, my grandpa left me in his truck while we went on a call.
He was a mechanic and people would call him when they needed help so he'd take me on calls.
He wasn't supposed to, though.
He would have gotten fired if his boss knew he took me with him.
I'd usually hide in his truck.
Well, one night it was stormy, but there was no rain - just multiple lightnings.
Coming straight down. It was pretty but terrifying.

Your grandfather sounds pretty neat, Moi. But being alone in the truck during a storm would be really scary! Was he able to get away long enough to come check on you at all or did you have to tough it out?

I just sat in there. It usually didn't take him long.
A lot of the time, someone did something stupid that he could fix easily.
He worked on vending machines and coffee pots and stuff.

Also, I think my superpower is static electricity.
I got electrocuted when I was a kid and I have so much static electricity flowing through me xD
I get shocked by everything >>

Moi: Oh boy, I feel you :( And I get shocked mostly with my roommate's car... I tap it gently a few times before I close the door or something lol
