Metric is quite new compared to imperial

And the States doesn't use metric cuz of a pirate attack, one of our presidents was interested in using metric but the guy he sent to get weights was caught and held for so long that by the time he finally got to the States, the president had changed and the new one didn't care so much about changing

I remember the week that they tried to teach us metric and then they just gave up. lol.

One of my friends introduced me to the concept of metric time, and now my heads is messed up. I’m pretty sure I replied with a semi-relevant xkcd, ha.

But metric is so simple! It's based on tens after all!
1 kilometer = 1000 meters
1 meter = 100 centimeters
1 centimeter = 10 millimeters
so the smallest is 1 millimeter.
It's nothing like miles, feet, inches, ounces, pounds, idk what else... they all have different measurements and it's a pain.
And don't get me started on the Fahrenheits.

Guys please the measurements hurt me. Why can't we just use google.

Fahrenheit was supposed to have 100 be regular body temp but the dude who developed it borked slightly
The Imperial system was created over many many many years by royalty, among others, and the more people you have working on a thing, the more complex it gets

I use metric. Imperial to me is..stupid.

I use my hand. if it's too hot, it's hot. Too cold, it's cold.

Haha, Nan, that's the perfect measurment :D I must admit I use that one too. 15C for my bf is enough for maybe a sweatshirt, but for me it's a jacket and a thin scarf/shawl XD
