ah yea.. so an update on that legal letter thing I got.

So, apparently the US government has this thing that people 55 and over, if on medicaid, when they die, the government takes money for the decedents estate to get their money back.

Medicaid is for the poor. there for they don't have much, yet, when that poor person dies, the government takes what ever money they tried to save up for their loved ones.
You get punished for being old and poor.

This letter is from a lawyer that handles medicaid estate recovery program. I called to find this out.

My mom didn't have anything to leave behind, she didn't have an estate. Instead, to make sure I'd be taken care of, she got life insurances and had me as the beneficiary.

Well, these people, when they asked about life insurances, they didn't even bother to ask IF there was a beneficiary. They tell me "that's suppose to go back to the state of Ohio." I freak. This money is what is keeping me alive until I can HOPEFULLY get on SSI.

So I called that neighbor, she said something didn't sound right, so on a 3 way call she called the place I called, then called other numbers they were given... Google had the lawyer's office that sent me the letter as "Permanently Closed" and today was Good Friday or something so the State Attorney was closed for the day... yet people where answering the phones which makes Patti think something else is off.

I start googling "Can the state take away a life insurance when I'm the beneficiary" and found that they shouldn't be able to, but it's best to get an Elder Lawyer (lawyer that deals with medicaid crap) to help protect you.

While on the phone, setting up a 20 minute free consult, I had a panic attack. I couldn't breath. I got it set up though.


These Medicaid Estate Recovery Programs vary from state to state, but I'm hoping they can't actually take my life line...


I had a headache from crying and from that panic attack. No appetite but I still had to eat so I ordered a pizza with wings and fries... delivery guy forgot my soda so I had to call and tell them about that.... more phones... I only managed to nibble on the fries before passing out. I just woke up.



I was planning on running the carpet scrubber today and getting started on the living room.... =/ Nope... today was a "lets make dk have a panic attack and super sick"

I’m sorry DK, I hope you can work things out soon. D: it sucks that this is happening during the Easter long weekend, chances are you won’t get any progress til Tuesday.

nice! i'm heading out soon in a few hours, today my grandaunt is celebrating her 90th birthday.....well technically 89th bc immigration screwed up her birthday when she came here, its a common occurrence since a lot of older asian people go by their lunar birthday.

but yay to free food. and maybe i'll get some red packets out of it bc i'm not married and only unmarried ppl get red packets lol. once you're married, YOU'RE the one forced to give out red packets lol.

i'm in it for the free food and money, this celebration.....8U that and i like my grandaunt, her family is more....uh......dysfuctional than mine lol. xD not that that's a compliment, it just means her fam is more interesting.
