*meanwhile Kat uses a touch wacom instead of a mouse* xD
It is easy flip to a tablet pen and go to town on Photoshop, illustrator, what-have-you. But, I got introduced to this in college where we had them on campus and there were people to learn from. So, it is kind of different than ordering one and not having any help. :x
When I got the touch one a few years ago I had already been using Wacom tablets for over a decade... o3o"
#notrelatabletothisconvo lol </3
Hi Nixie :o
I like the braids too! And welcome to my thread... <3

As someone who is self taught on drawing tablets and art programs, I can confirm just dropping in and playing around will get you to a point where you can do what you want to do. Most programs nowadays are pretty user friendly for the basics

Yeah I looked into those, and they were like a million dollars + your soul + your firstborn's soul + your dog's soul. DX
I ended up getting a Samsung Note 10.1 because it has a pressure-sensitive pen (uses Wacom tech), and it's been pretty awesome. The only problem I'm having is finding an app to do vector-art with. I've tried at least a dozen and they all have fatal flaws.
(Like Adobe Draw is too laggy and has like no features or brushes, Squid and Handwrite Pro are okay but neither have symmetry (which I
need), and then Infinite Design is my absolute favorite for great features and brushes and design... but it moves the lines that I draw thus rendering it completely useless.

)
Super wish I could find a good one with all the features I need, don't know why it's so hard. Siiiiigh.

The art tablet that I got was an Intuous Pen and Touch, though I quickly found out that I didn't really need the "Pen and Touch" part xD For me it works alright, but maybe the price wasn't so steep on my part since it came from my dad's friend, so we got a little discount. I only use SAI as an art program and I know that it's lacking on a couple of advanced features that Photoshop has, but I never really understood the latter so that's why I stick to SAI lol.
Hope you do find what you're looking for though!

I have a Turcom TS-6608 tablet that I could for rather inexpensive and it works pretty well overall. I've tried a bunch of programs but I think I like Krita and Clip Studio Paint the most. As a bonus, Krita is also free...but it's probably just as complex as early versions of Photoshop too
