I admit to finding inspiration in some of the color combo choices she creates. Colors I never would have thought of pairing together, but because they're already both in a single item, it ends up happening.

It's just a bummer when there's a color I really really don't like put in a color combo.
Like bright green or indigo. I really don't like bright green and it's often paired with colors I like and then I can't use that item.

I guess I can live with that though XD

Oh, same! But for a different set of colors. I love the bright green. For me it's all those pinks and pinky purples that I'm not so fond of.

On the other hand, sometimes I then view it as a challenge. Kind of, "how can I make an avatar that I like, using this color?"

I see what you mean. I'm pretty picky with the pinks and the purples as well.

I know I will never be able to make an avatar I like with the colors I really don't like. Like, again, indigo or bright green. I avoid them at all costs because I know I won't be able to pull it off.

Yeah, sometimes there's just something about it that doesn't work.

For myself, I think that's the Fuchsia and maybe Magenta colors. I try periodically but haven't yet succeeded. But I thought I never would with Bubblegum either and I'm pretty sure there's at least one saved Avatar in my wardrobe that uses an item that has Bubblegum in it. So who knows! I might be wrong!

I don't like magenta XD I can deal with Fuchsia but somehow also finds it a very difficult color to use.

Then again I didn't like mocha and here I am making avatars with it XD

Fuchsia/aqua seems to be the pair most common in my inventory for a fuchsia primary x secondary

For me that's the positive point of a forum, compared to other chats. You can grab Kitalpha's post from yesterday, and reply to it in your own time.
So I join several conversations in several threads, I post to them all and later today or tomorrow I'll check for replies. It's an slow conversation but it's a conversation anyway.

Talking about color combos.
I've been away for so long that many new colors have been released. I'm still learning to work with them, so the combos Firn designed for items are a good starting point.
But as general rule I don't like using ONLY those combos, I need at least a completely different color that makes the avatar different, otherwise it feels a bit dull to create.
It's eye pleasing of course, but not nearly as fun as an avatar creator.

I see what you mean Amura and I think that's something I really struggle with.
I want my avatars to be eye pleasing so much that they often lack that little something to make them really pop.

My current one is pretty adventurous for me to be honest ^^

Your current avatar is very cute. And holiday themed!
(I suck at holiday themed avatars ^^;)

But, yeah, that something that pops or that makes some contrast, that's what I like better.
I'm not so sure if it's so beautiful from the outside, maybe it would actually be nicer without that contrast, but it's more challenging with it.
And I'm all for a challenge
