I think most people online have experienced this.
Still happens a lot to me on Discord. There are threads that I never post in simply because I know the 'active' posters will not bother to respond to me anyway. :}

Hi, I'm back from a long hiatus and trying to find some hangouts that I can be in I have that problem now when I'm trying to look for hangouts and other threads because it's been so long and like, I feel awkward saying something to join in. I miss talking with the people I used too on here though.

I rarely talk on discord unless it’s direct message. I rarely talk in the discord channels. I mainly use them for notifications for updates.
