Yeah... The history of anglo-saxon countries really destroyed the studying English for me.... I literally just needed to say 'England is wondrous England is Great!' and ignore the existence and history of anything besides England (such as wales and scotland) and ignore the commonwealth history...

I really hated it and ended up quitting that. Thank god it was only my minor...

I heard they finally changed the curriculum into something more neutral (though still not quite) since there were too many complaints from non-English majors taking the course...

That sounds mighty old-fashioned, prejudiced and problematic. I mean, there are people who still belief in that kind of rubbish, but in England they tend (I say tend) to be the uneducated.

It's why I couldn't stand it and quit that. No matter what I said to the professor she just went 'we don't teach that here'... I mean... .Seriously?
I'm glad it's reformed now, but I'm not expecting it to be perfect (still the same professor)

You should complain to the university about that. Tell them that it's not a balanced course...

Yeah. It's the reason they had to reform (me and most others that didn't do english as a major went to complain back then)
it's why it's better now (but still the same teacher and she's very... Rigid? I think that might be a good word?)

Yes, I think so at least... But should is not the same as is.

Yeah. Which is why the Uni changed the course immediately (turns out most of the years before hadn't really bothered to complain about it). Cause it wasn't neutral enough.
Sadly, as long as it's the same teacher the change is limited. I hear there's still plenty of chauvinistic sidenotes mentioned in class (just not mentioned on the official curriculum)...

So it's not perfect, but it's soooooooo much better already...

Oh well, something's better than nothing, I guess.
