I wrote my master thesis about Salvador Dalí, THE surrealist. And he had this special technique: He would sit on a chair in front of his canvas, holding a metal spoon in his hand and a metal plate on the floor. Once he fell asleep, he let go of the spoon that hit the plate and woke him up. The picture that was now in his mind would be part of his painting.

OMG I had no idea! That is hilarious and awesome!

Well Dali surely was a funny and strange man and way ahead his time.
And drug addicted as far as I know.

Well, I don't want to glorify drug usage, but I guess a few artists have taken drugs or at least tried them

My master thesis was about a movie that Dalí made together with Walt Disney

Not quite sure, it is way too long ago what I learned in school.

And something went terribly wrong in Van Goghs head to cut of his own ear

Picasso died at the age of 91. Not quite sure if Absynthe was involved, but if it was, it sure didn't make him die at a young age xD

The thing about Van Gogh is that it is said that he cut of his ear because he had depressions and back then that was not really treatable.

Haha, I know that feeling. But more about math and stuff like that.
Like.. I remember that we DID learn a technique in math but I have no idea how it worked...

Well, at least math is quite simple during the first years x'D
Even though I have to admit that the way they do math nowadays is totally different from what I learned years ago :O
