oh I didn't know that! I don't check buying forum unless there's something I can update my WK items wishlist with

no, it's linguistics. sorry, it's mainly about words like who, why, when, how, etc. in some languages you can ask "what did you do?" moving the "what" forward, in some you say "you did what?" (you can't really do it in english unless it's an echo question: "I bought coffee" - "wait, you did WHAT?", but japanese works exatly like this keeping the phrase pinned). in yiddish you also ask "what did you do?". and if you want to ask "who did what?", you can either do it like in english or ask "who what did?". or you can ask "what did who?" which is not ok in english. basically this is the topic of my thesis. but I need to state and solve some problem but I don't see any that wouldn't have already been solved. except that some sientists claim that yiddish belongs to a sort of languages that typically don't have this fronting thing. but even this is not really a problem because (a) some languages that also belong to this group also do move wh-words to the front, and (b) once could argue that yiddish does not belong to this group but to another that chooses fronting as a normal questioning strategy *sigh* and I really don't want to take sides in this debate. but just giving an overview about all those points is not enough for a thesis.
