Yeah I know what you mean, i feel the same. My sister though, she doesn’t care about that kind of stuff, she was always going to her friends places and such.

I stopped once my friends told me that just bringing myself was enough. With new people though... I ask first. :}

I think that for us, as long as we’re visiting another Asian family, we’ll bring something with us.

That is a good way to respect tradition. :}

Yeah I guess. I grew up on it.

That is the whole thing with tradition, giving it through to the next generation through up bringing.
It's how old traditions are lost and new ones are gained as well. :}

well sometimes we can be taught or know of these traditions for all our life. however, whether we actually go out to pass them down is another matter. i feel like ive been more susceptible to the old traditions than my younger sister. xD;; she's a bit more "white-washed"

People always only continue the parts that resonate with them. :}

Yeah I guess. Still a lot gets lost if we pick and choose only the stuff we like. ^^;;

Just look up traditions from just over a hundred years ago. So much has changed because people pick what they want to pass on.
Although I am still not certain if I am sad or glad we ended the tradition to wear hats whenever you go outside. Those things are gorgeous... :}
