It's nice that we are all planning our goals for next year already :D
I don't know whether to go for more than 52 books since it was fine to do that much this year. But more might be too stressful. Especially if I read some of the books that are still in my pile that are a bit longer.

I thought of doing it Julez-way and concentrating on a list of specific books to read instead of a number. maybe that could work for you too?

I like having the number. I naturally concentrate on specific books anyway as I read a lot for research, so it wouldn't encourage me to read more if I had that type of goal.

makes sense. I'm sure you'll come with just the right challenge by the end of 2018 anyway :D

Awww I like how you said I have my way xD
I think I will actually make it like that as well. Try to read 20, but it will be more important which books I read. I still doubt that I will ever finish Moby Dick. Or read a Shakespeare play. But at least I am working on HP 2 in Russian. There are still 250 pages left though, might be the last book for this year xD
This group here is great, I agree

I have been setting mini goals (like reading a certain number of books that I own but have never read), but then I never keep track of the mini goals.

Maybe that could be a task for you then Sanssouci? To write that down ;)
Phew, I will try again I guess xD But I think I have to start over with Moby Dick.

@Sanssouci: but why don't you keep track of them?
@Julez: if you make it your book number one and keep others as a reward for finishing it, do you think that would motivate you?
maybe I should aim to read the books that were gifted to me. people keep asking you know...

Oh then you should make that an aim, Alice!
Well, actually I am telling myself that as soon as I finish HP 2 in Russian, a Shakespeare play and Moby Dick I can finally start reading Percy Jackson... Still didn't get there... xD
