memoriam wrote: Dec 8th, '23, 00:12 I still hope I left it in the car of the person who drove me back home from work. That would be the best. But when you call my number, oddly enough, it goes straight to the voice mail, so that's really not good. And I charged it today, so it couldn't just randomly die... I fear someone found it and turned it off to reset it or something and sell it. It's a nice enough phone. I hope it just froze somewhere in the snow and that's why you can't reach my number... Idk, I had so many photos and videos on there, all since my dog was a tiny puppy, and my kitten from his first days with us, and my rat babies current and passed ones and I just can't...
Was this on a lyft ride? It'd be easier money for them to get it back to you than to steal it if so. Lyft will charge you ( eyeroll ) for leaving things in the car after your trip but it's hard to report a phone unless you can access someone else's of course.

Oh no, that's horrible ><
I keep my fingers crossed that it will show up eventually
When left out in the cold my phone sometimes dies super quickly even if it was charged and still more then half full
So I hope that's the case with yours and why you can't reach it.
Is the person who drove you someone you know who could get back to you once they found it? (If it was left in the car)

I remember when I was a lyft driver that I had to go back with a customer's belongings and Lyft paid me like 25.00 to return their items. I can't tell you how much that probably cost the customer though I believe it was expensive.

I remember having to organize Uber drivers to do deliveries at work. It was agonizing because some Uber drivers can’t understand/too lazy to take simple instructions.

In winter my old phone could die within the hour if it was cold enough outside. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed this is the case for you. :}

I'm not sure if you know of a delivery service called Waitr or now ASAP because they got sued for their namesake because another company in California had already claimed the name Waitr. I worked customer support management for years and I hated it every day.

Nope never heard of it. Not surprising since it might be American? I’m in Canada. XD

I got my phone back! *⁂* ℭonfetti ℜain *⁂*

It was under the car seat... What kind of made me want to choke the guy who gave me a ride because I called him as soon as I noticed my phone being gone, and after I made sure it wasn't anywhere in the apartment. And he said for sure there was no phone left in his car 'cause he'd have noticed.
And today I went into the office he sits in to ask him to please let me search his car and before I could say as much as "Hi" he took my phone out of his pocket and said "Look what I found under my car seat, you're welcome" with a smug smile on his face.

I cried half the night over my potentially lost videos and photos only because he didn't care to check the car when I first called him... I know it was late, but come on, it was like 10 minutes after I left the car...

Anyway, I thanked him and went to do my job :mcheh:

Oh, and the guy who gave me a ride is my coworker and a friend of my BF... So it's not a complete stranger. I wouldn't be as bitter about it as I am if he'd offered to search his car in the morning or something but he didn't even offer that, he just straight up said he's sure it's not in the car.
Also, he could have just texted my BF right when he found it. I called him from bf's phone after all...

The most important thing is that I got it back, though, no matter the circumstances. I was fully prepared that the phone was frozen, ran by a car, and completely useless and that I'd have to find a specialist to try and save my photos and videos from the memory card if it didn't go to shit. But it wasn't even wet or anything. So I'm annoyed at the guy, but I'm SO happy to have my phone back QuQ As much as I'd like to stay mad and petty, I can't because I'm too happy xD

I washed my phone in the laundry once recently. I felt like I'd die because all of my photos and videos PLUS access to my actual facebook account were just gone. It took a few days to feel better about it. ::((
