wow playing both at the same time...8U i only usually just get one of the games, not both.

i see. well i guess i should get arceus one of these days lol.

I got my first gameboy color and pokemon blue when I was 8 (for my 8th bday), so I was a few years late to the party, but they still played Red/Blue/Yellow and Gold/Silver/Crystal at that point so I had no issue finding trading partners.

Gameboy Advance and GBA SP came out, again I was late to the party, but by then no one I knew played Pokemon anymore. So I got myself 2 GBA SP's and started buying BOTH games so I could have all the pokemon.

Gameboy and Gameboy Color's needed a cable.
the GBA and GBA SP could do so wireless as long as the devices were practically on top of each other.

DS/3DS you could trade via wifi, but by then I started to enjoy collecting the games themselves.

So now, I get both games. But even with friends that I can trade with via Wifi.. they don't always come through. =/ I needed a few from Pokemon Shield for ages.. and so I buy Shield.

There's also the fact no one wants to let go of their legendaries, so I'd still need both games to make sure I have all the legends. ;3

Out of the games I have, I'm missing Silver, Leaf Green, and Emerald.


Now if only they'd re-release that raging monkey legend that came out last year... =/ I never got the email with the code ...

Hotarla, since you still get the emails, if another pokemon code like that comes through, can you let me know? o3o

But if i don’t PLAY them, its the same as wasting money…8U i’m not using them, they stay in their boxes without being opened….8U games should be played, not left to gather dust. And that point, collecting becomes hoarding. And i don’t want that. 8U so unless i’m gonna play it, i’m not gonna get it.

Collecting doesn't become hoarding. Hoarding is a mental illness where you can't let ANYTHING go. ANYTHING as mail from 10+ years ago, phonebooks from 20 years ago, news papers dating back to 30 years, broken items, buying everything you see out of mail order catalogs just because you 'MIGHT' need it in the future. Not because you want to collect stuff, but because it looks useful and you want it to have. You'll come up with excuses to get these as well. "It looked nice so I thought X would like it" is the second most popular excuse hoarders use. "The I might need it in the future" is the first most popular.

THAT is hoarding, And I am STILL going through my mothers hoard as she was a hoarder. There is a HUGE difference between collecting and hoarding.


Collecting is a hobby, one that you put on displace in your home for others to admire. One that can actually net you money 20-40 years later, especially if they're unopened and/or in near perfect condition.

A holographic first edition, perfect condition Charizard from the first batch of pokemon cards is worth over 40 thousand USD. It's a card that was bought and left to collect dust for years.

Old retro computer games on floppy disks are going for thousands of dollars too. The original Zelda NES game is worth something unopened. Unopened means it was left to collect dust and never used for years. And they were kept like that because the person wanted it as a collection.

Comic book collectors will buy 2 of each issue. One to keep sealed, never to be touched, and one to be read.

Well guess i’ll see if i can make any progress with the remake D/P before i think about getting arceus. I still haven’t finished the…last…last? instalment of the game? Shield/Sword? XD was that the one? Theres also Snap…and Dungeon…8U started both, never finished….just like with remake D/P. UGH. Too many games…8U and there’s also the professor layton one…aahhhhh…
