One more opinion:
SilverLotus wrote:@amalath: I would say add some type of shoe, gloves, and maybe more hair changes to the final. It kinda simple. The changes from stage to stage is not very noticeable too and too simple and small.

Same reasoning.

I darkened his hair in stage one and then darkened it again but less in stage 2.

Also stage 2 I made with whites to the eyes, but less of them than stage 1, so it looks like the dark part is expanding..

Shortened bottom braid in stage 4.

Paler skin in stage 1.

Also made him wear undies instead of shorts in the first.

Added blush in #1 so it doesn't have something that appears and then disappears.

Bushier eyebrows in #1...

So.. I don't know where to ask this really. I guess this would be the place.
I have yet to send in my knuffle, but as I know the rules states saying that it doesn't have to be a humanoid type to be accepted. So would this get accepted?

It's animated to show off all the stages. The actually images are better quality.
This would be it. Though the sides/stray pixels outside of the image will be fixed.

I don't know if knuffel being fully animal would pass or not, but I think he breaks at least two other rules:

- The base of your Knuffel must leave a margin around all sides. It should not end right at the end of the image, but should also not leave an significant amount of space

His tail kinda disturbs in proportional putting in the image.

What is more:

→ Striking, clearly visible major changes per stage
→ At least 3 changes per stage, if they are minor things, like "adding gloves" etc, there should be MORE changes per stage.
→ No just adding a few clothes/accessories for every stage

He doesn't evolve at all, changing color a bit ain't evolution, no 3 major changes per stage either, all he does is getting new accessories like book, hat, tail stuff which is not evolution.

hey there.
Been rejected. Reason:
At least one of the stages is too similar to the previous / next. The Knuffel should evolve more noticably.

Here is the current all-stages. Where is there not enough change?

I'd say between 1-4. There are changes between them, just they're not drastic. What I'd suggest is trying to not make him look strictly like Thylacine, since with so little elements it's hard to make visable changes between 5 stages. Try doing something more Thylacine inspired, then being Thylacine itself. Made a very fast sketch on your stages, just to show you some random stuff that can be added. You don't have to like it or make it how I showed, it's only an example of how to make him more complex. HERE

What I did:
- more visable changes in eyes in each stage
- made his fringe bit longer in each stage, added few beads to the hair
- added marks in all stages other then 1, making them show gradually, kinda overdid it in 2nd stage though ^^'
- added a tshirt and glove
- made more visable changes in shorts
- made his mouth bit open in last stage
- beads on his leg showing in simple form in 3rd stage and changing a bit till 5th

Thanks for the advice!

I really like your shirt plan there, and the little hanging suspenders in #4. The shirt shows off the tubbiness of Knuffel... :qh:

I'm also loving the mouth idea- I'm thinking having him start sticking his tongue out in stage 4.

Off-the-shoulders is good because thylacines really only have stripey butts, their front paws don't have the pattern. shoulders was my compromise for striping, though lower stomach might get some too, especially in stages 2 and 3.

I might have a tied belt in stage 3, rather than a buckled one.

Also, beaded hair starting stage 2 and going forward.
