PupDragon's poems

A thread for my poems. Comments are welcome. New poems will be sporadic.
EDIT; as of February 22, 2018, I am challanging myself with writing a new poem every day for 100 days. Let us see how long I last. I failed that so hard. T .T

The Long Night
The streets are cold
The leafs are gold
The sun shines less
The moon shines more
Clouds fill the sky
Threatening a downpour
More white then wet
Fall has come, soon to leave
Cold north winds
No more warm breeze
But with the long night
Comes lights so bright!
Laugh!
Dance!
Celebrate!
With Friends, Family, Love
The sun will rise
The dawn will come
The night is only so long
The streets are cold
The leafs are gold
The nights are bright
With the moon
The stars
The coloured lights!

Dreams
Write your heart on a paper
Pin it to your sleeve
Show it to the world
It will bring you to your knees
I will come on by
To turn your world around
Get you on your feet
Firmly on the ground
And I'll say Hay
What are you doing Today
Will you sail across the ocean
Will you race in a plane
I'll say Hay
Will you climb a mountain
Will you dance with all your heart
The world is not going anywhere
Pick your place to start
Write your heart on a paper
Pin it to your sleeve
Let the world laugh at you
Your heart is all you need

Blank
Blank White paper
Like clouds in the sky
Can be anything
Just look and see
Draw lines, like shapes
That paint a story to be told
Oh
That one looks like a bunny
Hopping home

Dark
Black and bleeding
Moonlight seeping
In the darkened night
Shadows creeping
You're not sleeping
On this darkened night
Sounds are creaking
Somethings skratching
Time for a nightlight

Thank you. Here is a new one. It will also be added to the first post.

Keep writing! I find that a thesaurus can be a source to find the right words sometimes and adds to it too.

"Dark" immediately caught my attention. I think you perfectly tied senses (black, dark, shadows, sounds, creaking, scratching) with perception (bleeding, seeping, creeping). When you are afraid, what is real and what is your interpretation gets mixed and messed, and you make one feel exactly that. Also nice use of alliteration: proportion to the rest of the poem is just enough to not be too much. Good job!

I really like The Long Night. The sense of things shutting down, going to sleep, but no. No this is a time of celebration! Break out the lights, dance with your friends, for dawn will come again.
