Cole heard as someone stepped closer, he didn't have to look up to know who it was. He wanted to refuse but couldn't as Leanna took him into an embrace. He frowned still feeling slightly agitated as he listened to her explanation. As they parted and she asked him if he would have let her come along he looked aside. "I wouldn't at first, but perhaps i would have changed my mind. Fuck! I don't know." He concluded running a hand through his hair frustrated. Leanna seemed earnest with her resolve and he couldn't blame her wanting to help. Cole felt himself calm down, the kiss helping a little but not entirely dissolving his frustration.

As she held on to him, pleading with him, his frown grew deeper. "I hate this. This war, this whole situation!" He almost shouted aloud. Cole wrapped his arms around Leanna holding her tightly. "I don't hate you." His grip growing stronger, more desperate. "But imagining that you would be gone without knowing is the worst to me. If so, I'd rather have you by my side." After holding on to her for a minute or two he finally felt himself relax. The anger slowly dissipating in him. He leaned back taking another look at her face. Running a hand through her now short hair. "You really went pretty far this time. Your poor hair." He gave her a lopsided smile before sighning. "If I hadn't seen and heard you at the lake today I might have not found out by appeariance alone."

It took him a few second before realizing that he just had admitted to peeping at her. Cole grew a little flustered. "Ah, I mean... I was there first!" He tried to defend himself, refusing to feel embarassed even though he did. Putting a hand over his mouth he though about how she was able to sneak in this far by herself anyway, when he realized something. "Wait. That Mikhel guy. Did he knew you were a woman?" Cole remembered how friendly they had been and began growing irritated yet again. "I do hope you didn't tell him anything else. If word gets out the princess is here, they'll go nuts." He gave her a scowling look, confused by his own behaviour. Was that what people called jealousy? Cole pulled her closer again kissing Leanna. It was a taste he'd never grew tired of.

Again and again he let his lips meet hers. His hands began tracing the curves of Leannas body. It wasn't fair. For so long he'd been doing his best to hold back, but his patiance was running out. Cole wanted to mark her, make her his own. Perhaps this would be his last chance. He gently pushed Leanna down on the grass his lips still on hers. He continued on to her neck leaving a hickey behind before pulling back looking down to her. "Will you spend the night with me Leanna? Or do you want to go back to the tent?" Cole's right hand began to slowly slip under her shirt, his lust filled eyes staring at her. "What will it be princess?"

Finra drew a cross over her chest. "Your secret is safe with me." She said continuing to listen to his story. Appearently he had fallen head over heels with that girl. It made her heart squeeze. She loved stories of dramatic romance and decided on one thing. "Hey I like you. So I'll help you out if you want." She grinned before offering him information about Cole. "Truth be told I haven't talked to him much yet." She had to admit saddened by the fact. "We were childhood friends you know. Well before I moved away. I just recently returned." She stretched out her legs opening and closing them. "I only heard some info from my dad. Cole appearently met our kingdoms princess and became acquainted with her. I also heard rumors from other soldiers that they saw them being intimate." She shrugged not really shocked by it.

Fin leaned forward her hands on the ground between her legs. She wasn't a beauty but she certainly was dainty and cute. At least that is what she heard from the others. Finra had red hair, which was braided to two pigtails to each side. A few freckles spread across her nose and cheeks and gentle hazelnut eyes. "I won't believe it until I've heard it from his own mouth though." She said with a strong confidence as she stared into the campfires flame before turning to Mikhel. "I guess we both have found something worth fighting for." She smiled again before standing up. Giving her new found friend a quik pat on the head. "Let's do our best and come out alive of this war!" Finra said before bidding him a good night, taking up her duty and cleaning the dishes before heading to her tent. Feeling the weight on her heart made it a bit difficult to fall asleep. Nothing was won or lost just yet.

Leanna didn't let go of Cole in the slightest, fearing that if she did he would be gone forever. But slowly, his frustration began to dissipate and he relaxed into her hold and he admitted how much he too hated this situation and then wrapping his arms around her. Leanna whispered sweet words into his ear and they comforted each other and when she pulled back Cole looked sadly at her hair, making her feel slightly self-conscious. "It's not like I wanted to..." one hand went up to touch the small strands, "But it was the only option I had, besides it will grow back". She smiled sadly. It took her a few seconds to realise what Cole had said about seeing her at the lake, at first she was confused as to why that was a problem, but it finally clicked in place that he had possibly seen her naked.

Her face went bright red. "I-I mean... uhh" she couldn't hold back how embarrassed she was, covering her whole face with both her hands. She didn't want to remove them, replying while hiding, "He knows I'm female... but nothing more." she said calmly, as if it meant nothing. her hands were pulled away at Cole kissed her over and over again. She kept her locked in place, hands roaming her waist and hips as he slowly shifted their positions. It was only when Cole broke away that Leanna took a breath and stared deep into his eyes that seemed almost... hungry. One hand slipped under her shirt, fingertips dancing on her skin that sent shivers up her spine.

Leanna raised her hands to wrap around his neck, pulling him down so their lips grazed each other but denied him an actual kiss. "There's nothing I want more" she admitted, feeling embarrassed but excited. She ran her fingers through his hair and let him explore her body for a while, breath hitching every so often as he touched her. She shifted so that they could be as close as possible, and snaked her hands down to the bottom of his shirt, lifting it and breaking the kiss - silently telling him to remove it. When he returned, her hands felt his chest and his stomach, exploring him as much as she could. Leanna was on an all time high when a nearby rustling made her blood run cold, "H-hey" she whispered, suddenly very scared and anxious, "N-no one will see us, will they?" She didn't want to stop, but the fear of being spotted was a real concern.

There was movement between them, as Cole shifted his body and Leanna moved with him, she was unsure if it was deliberate or not, but whatever Cole did meant that there was a rubbing pressure on her lower half that sent a small and low moan escape from her lips. Embarrassed, she instantly covered her face again, "D-don't look at me" she said barely above a whisper, ashamed to show her face. She felt shameless and didn't know what Cole would think, but his voice, lower and husky, made more shivers run across her skin and sent her into a whole new world of interesting pleasures.

Finra was a sweet girl, and her enthusiasm made Mikhel smile; "Heheh thanks." she listed to Cole's backstory from her, he got a little lost in thought again, wondering if Syd could possibly be the princess - but that was ridiculous, the princess had long silver hair and ice blue ey- he shot his head up in shock. but shook it instantly, that couldn't be right, lots of people had blue eyes. He let out a sigh, noticing how Finra seemed to have the same feelings as him but aimed at Cole. He smiled, nudging her shoulder gently. "I'm sure Syd is just a peasant girl who has a thing for 'bad boys', and Cole seems like the mysterious type so I don't think you'll find anything out unless you ask him directly." he said with a soft smile. "We sure do" he replied, waving her goodnight as she walked off.

He stared into the fire for a little while longer, letting out a long sigh. He had never felt this way about another person before so all it did was confuse him. He decided to head back as well, slightly annoyed when he noticed neither Cole nor Syd were in their beds. It irritated him, wondering if Cole was now cheating on the princess - Mikhel suddenly got angry. Princess Leanna was an idol for most of the town, if Cole was hurting her he'd practically be exiled. "What a shitty guy" he muttered to himself, a new loathing slowly bubbling in his gut as he tried to sleep for the night, wondering if there was a way he could 'win' Syd away from him.

Cole smiled as Leanna gave him the pass. No holding back anymore. While his lips worked their way down to her collar bone, his hand moved further up, feeling her soft chest, playing with it. He enjoyed her responses making him crave more. Cole came back to her lips before realizing that her hand demanded for him to take of his shirt. Leaning back he removed it in one easy move over his head, throwing it aside. He let her hands roam his body, enjoying the gentle touch to it. Pleasure was bubbling in him followed by growing erection. He began growing impatient with the second. Moving in biting and nibbling on her body.

He stopped abruptly though as they heard movement come from a nearby bush. "It was probably just an animal." He said nonchalantly not really bothered by it. After Leanna stated her concern Cole looked behind him towards the camp. Most of the fires were allready out only a few illuminating the countless tents. He didn't believe anyone was going to come their way during this time and day. But he didn't want her to feel anxious either. Cole stood up lifting Leanna up in his arms. "If that's what bothers you, all we have to do is get a little farther away right?" He gave her a mischievous smile walking further into the forest.

After finding himself a nice even spot he sat Leanna back down. His hands began on working to remove her clothes piece by piece. She seemed to grow more and more nervous the more he removed. "You're adorable." He said trying to distract her with kisses as he continued to remove the last pieces of cloth from her. His own heart was hammering in his chest as his hand had moved between her legs. She seemed to flinch a little before letting out a low moan trying to hide away from him by covering her face. It made him want to tease her. Cole bent down to her ear. "Don't you think it's a little to late for that?" he responded to her comment in a husky voice, snickering a little amused. "You're cute." He bit her ear gently.

Cole removed her one hand with his own free one forcing her to look at him. "Relax..." His expression was soft but eager as well. Planting a small kiss on her forehead, removing himself from her. He took his trousers off before returning to Leanna slipping in between her legs. His hearbeat was almost deafening his ears. To impatient to wait anymore he closed the gap between their bodies. Almost instantly he felt a rush run through his body, as he thrust forward. Cole started out slowly adjusting himself to Leanna before increasing the speed. Letting out a few pleasure filled groans himself before locking lips with Leanna hungrily. Even if the world would end tomorrow, tonight he made her his and that fact alone made him incredibly happy.

It was late and in the largest tent of the camp a heated discussion erupted between the generals. They were five generals gathered in total. Another five allready waiting at the war site. Shen hit his fist on the makeshift table they had took along, the map and little figures on it trembling. "Quit!" He demanded and he was granted it. Frustrated he rubbed the bridge of his nose. They were having this discussion for hours now with no sign of an end to it. They were discussing their tactics on how to attack the enemy. Since they were inferior in numbers to Yeurna they had to come up with a plan to counter.

Dragons were a good measure to that, but after all the things he had heard from the queen and Freya he suspected the worst. They were able to use some kind of magic, what if they had something against their dragons as well? If so there was no way they could win. Splitting up their troups to go around and attack from the back line like one of the generals suggested was to risky as well. Bermond, who was a general as well, stepped forward. "Why don't we send out a small troop just like Freya had suggested? Take out the root of this whole thing and end it quik and painlessly." Shen turned to him. "If only it would be that easy. They could be hiding anywhere." He shook off the suggestion, though not entirely dismissing it. "We will decide what to do after we join up with the other half of our army. Until then you are dismissed. Get some sleep." He sighed before exchanging one friendly glance with Bermond. "Don't fret my friend, we've had it worse in the past." He tried to lift his spirit a little before exiting and leaving Shen to brew some more on a plan. If nothing else they would need a miracle to come out as victorious from this war.

Cole carried her to a more secure area, covered by the trees and hidden from everything, her entire world was just Cole. For this moment her mind completely forget the rest of the world existed, as their hands kept roaming each other and their lips kept caressing each others skin Leanna felt herself give in completely, looking at Cole with an almost impatient but sweet smile. He was gentle with her despite how eager he seemed and it made her feel warm. "C-cole" she whispered gently as one by one her clothing was removed. Despite the embarrassment he kept her calm and then removed his own clothing.

Leanna had zero experience and very limited knowledge of such intimacy but she trusted Cole with everything and wrapped her arms around his neck once more, kissing each other deeply while he controlled everything and pressed them together, two becoming one. Leanna let out a sharp gasp, the first few movements causing her pain, but slowly, with Cole's help those thrusts turned into a pleasure that made lewd sounds leave her lips. "Oh God.." she moaned, voice still low as she tried to suppress just how amazing this was. He kissed her greedily, and she responded with equal vigour, slowly moving her own body in time with his. Her mind began to go blank and all Leanna could think about was this one moment, every touch sent little shocks of pleasure along her body not able to hide anything as her small mewls became long drawn out moans and then Cole did something that made her whole body stiffen and her nails dragged small lines in his back as she arched upwards and opened her mouth in a silent scream.

This was the most amazing thing she had ever experience, and it made her so happy to look at Cole's face and know he was feeling exactly the same, face twisting slightly and he felt an equal amount of pleasure. When they had both calmed down, their heavy breathing the only sound, Leanna curled her body into his and let out a contented sigh. "Cole..." she whispered, rubbing small circles on his skin with her fingers, "...I love you" she said with a smile. She gave him a small kiss, "And you'd better be prepared for everything that comes with that. Because I'm actually a very jealous girl" she said, a smirk appearing on her features, lit by nothing but the moon, "You're amazing, handsome and make me feel like the luckiest woman on the planet. I don't feel like I deserve your love but you keep coming to me and it makes me so happy"

"Thank you. No matter what happens, no matter how this War divides us, promise me you'll return to me"

In the distance, out of sight, the country of Yeurna was making equal preparations of war, they had the use of dark magick, wizards and witches who specialised in evil and possessive works. The Prince watched carefully as they demonstrated just how lethal some of their spells were - and although it was fascinating the time it took to perform such a spell seemed impractical. "Your Grace" an older woman said, catching his attention, "I may have something that may interest you." she said with a wicked smile, yellowed and crooked teeth showing. She opened an old tome to a page filled with a language foreign to him, "I believe you were looking for a bride? Well, with this spell you may be able to capture that pretty princess from Androa after all." The prince smiled, "How does it work?"

The hag gave him another smile, grinning with malice, "You need five ingredients. Your blood, her blood, the petal of a blackened lily, four scales and the crushed horn of a male dragon. I believe out stock still has a horn left from last year, but we will need scaled and blood." The Prince grinned, "Make it happen. According to our spies the young Princess fled to Heika but one of our insiders has said that one of Androa's soldiers wasn't on their list and has the ice-blue eyes she has. Send scouts - don't capture her, but gather he blood, and the scales." the Prince stood, addressing the War Chief, "We'll make an attack after the potion has been brewed. Prepare the troops."

After an eventful evening, Leanna wanted nothing more than to fall asleep in Cole's arms, but the cold night was unforgiving and they were both forced to get dressed. She held onto him, both enjoying the peace as they huddled together under the moonlight. "I wish this night didn't have to end..." she said softly. "How do you think my Mother will react if I told her what we just did?" she said with a small giggle and smirk, "I reckon she'd faint, haha" Sleep slowly took over and Leanna felt herself drifting off, comfortable, happy and with a smile on her face.

Cole sighed into Leanna as he held her close after finishing their intimate love. He would have like to enjoy it a little longer but their time was limited. They'd need to get rest. There was no way around it. War was ahead. He returned her kiss. "I love you too." He smiled back, chuckling at her declaration. "My life is allready yours. I'm all yours." He gently put his forehead on hers, a hand stroking her cheek. "I won't promise." He paused a little before adding. "I'll swear I'll return to you no matter where you'll be." Cole sealed it with a long kiss.

The night drew colder and they had to get dressed again eventually. Cole still topless, regret it a little to have left behind his shirt at the tree infront of the camp. Just the more he clung to Leanna to absorb some warmth and it worked to some extent. A sweat droplet formed on his temple as she mentioned her mother. He felt guilty. "I doubt she'll only faint. They'd probably want my head on a stake too." He laughed a little ironically. They talked a little bit of what they'd do after winning the war and returning home. It was a happy topic granting them both a piece of serenity.

Cole wasn't as tired as Leanna. So when she had fallen asleep he continued to hold her for a little bit longer watching the stars in the night sky through the tree tops. Camping out here in this cold probably wasn't the best idea. In the end he gently lifted himself and Leanna from the ground heading back to the camp, grabbing his shirt along the way. When he returned all the lights had been put out, a dead silence hanging in the air. He somewhat could remember the pattern of the camps outline, navigating his way through to their tent. He quitly entered it without waking anyone up, placing Leanna down onto her own share of blankets before heading for his own. Dead tired he slumped down falling asleep as soon his eyes were shut.

The next morning arrived and Cole turned around a little disgrunteled before sitting up letting out a big yawn. He rubbed his eye awake, clearing his view. The other soldiers had began to move too. His glance first fell on the sleeping girl and he smiled at her knowingly before his gaze slid past Mikhel who seemed to stare daggers at him. He wasn't sure why but it didn't really bother him at the time. Cole took a bottle of water with him heading outside. There he splashed some of it onto his face, now fully awake with a clear mind he looked around. The entire camp busy preparing for departure. Seeing this scene of preparation let a certain coldness return to his heart. It soon would be time to fight. He quikly paid a quik visit to Dramor, who welcomed him more affectionately than usual. He too could feel the tense atmosphere. Afterwards he went back to their tent putting on his armor ready to continue their march.

Cole had seen Leanna pass by a few times but wasn't sure if he should talk to her or if it would seem suspicious. Afterall she almost always was together with that Mikhel guy who began to annoy him somewhat. He sighed and put on his helmet as Finra joined his side. "Had a good night's rest?" She seemed up and about as usual. Cole smiled replying with a simple. "Yeah." Fin was a little confused by the tone of his voice. It sounded so yearning. She laughed it off. "Say I've been hearing quite a few rumours about you." She nudged his side playfully. "Oh yeah? I bet none of them are anything nice." He replied while adjusting the holster of his sword. "Well... that depends. It's been about you and Princess Leanna. You know they say you two got something going on." Cole froze for a second and she paused before asking in an unsure tone. "Is that true?"

A deafening silence suddenly hung between them as Cole moved facing his childhood friend through the slits of his helmet. "That is none of your buisness." His tone was cold and rejecting leaving Finra to stand alone behind. She seemed like a lost puppy having lost all vigour from her body, unmoving. Very unlike her. Lost in thought she jolted when someone grazed her shoulder apologizing to her. She immediately smiled back, not minding it. It hurt so much because she knew Cole. He had changed to some extent but the core still was the same. Whenever he didn't want to lie he would always reply with -It's got nothing to do with you- which basically meant yes to her answer. Finra really felt like crying but refused. She had to smile, if not for her but for the others. Stay strong was her slogan with which she had learned to live by.

Leanna woke up feeling the most refreshed and awake she had ever felt in her life, she was slightly disappointed by the fact that Cole wasn't with her when she opened her eyes, but she understood - this wasn't the place to be fussing over their relationship. Leanna had a job to so, she got herself dressed and out the tent in record time, a small smile permanently on her face. She was dealt the same jobs, cleaning, feeding, taking care of the animals and dragons. Mikhel seemed to be avoiding her for the most part, and every time she met eyes with Cole she smiled sweetly and blushed, turning away as to not cause suspicion.

The dragons were both very anxious today, more so that Leanna had ever seen them. It worried her but her thoughts were caught short when Mikhel approached her, "H-Hey... Can I have a word?" he asked, motioning for them to move to a more private area, not out of the camp, but just out of earshot. "Look, Syd, I'm your friend, and as such I feel like I should warn you about that guy Cole." Leanna hesitated, paling slightly, "O-oh? What about him?" she asked, feigning ignorance. "I see the way you look at him, with big eyes and smiling - I get it, you like him" Mikhel practically spat, "But you should know... he's seeing someone, apparently" Leanna blanched, "What? Seeing someone?" Mikhel nodded, his eyes deadly serious, "Syd there's rumours he's in a relationship with the Princess, which I know sounds crazy - but... he's not denying it."

Leanna let out a small sigh of releif, her heart rate returning to normal, "Mikhel listen" she held his arm gently, "I appreciate you looking out for me, but I'll be okay. Don't concern yourself with who I'm interested in-" "But I want to" he interrupted. "You don't get it, do you?" he asked, stepping back a bit and running his hand through his hair. There was a shout of alarm, the sounds of people shouting throughout the entire camp, "We have to go!" Leanna said, interrupting Mikhel's speech, but he nodded and they both grabbed their gear and headed to the main group.

The shouting was replaced with organised commands, all troops were being sent into battle - it was time. Leanna's heart was in the throat but she kept herself steady, grabbing her sword and standing in line with all the others. She didn't manage to spot Cole among all the other soliders, but her concern for him vanished when an explosion sent her flying, landing and rolling along the ground among other people. Her ears were ringing, vision blurred, but she stood and readied her sword. The explosion was followed by another that was about half a mile away, hitting another cluster of soldiers. Leanna grimaced and ran forward, following the front line.

She hadn't seen the enemy herself, but there were already wounded soldiers, people retreating and she could hear the clash of swords from all directions. She took a few deep breaths and then launched herself into the midst of it all, she kept up well for someone who had never fought before. Another explosion caught her off guard and she collided with the ground again, her head felt like it was splitting open. She felt someone help her up, carrying her out of the front line, she didn't recognise them. She was put next to some of the other wounded soldiers and whoever was looking after her checked her head, wiping the bood from the back of her neck and ears. The mystery man pocketed the wipe which she thought was weird, but didn't question it. She was in too much pain to bother with that. She heard Finra's voice next, although her vision was still blurry, and her ears still ringing, "I'm fine" she mumbled.

Leanna lost track of time, suddenly waking in a foreign tent, the sky outside dark and a bandage wrapped around her head. She stood shakily, and headed outside, there was still a lot of commotion, and the horizon showed an unnatural purple glow. Leanna stumbled around, trying to find Cole, and came across Azutri and Dramor, both of which were very irritated and Dramor especially seemed to be in pain. Leanna whispered to him, "Hey, hey it's alright. You'll be alright" There was another explosion in the distance, but this time far away from their camp. Yeurna wasn't holding back, and she could see from how everyone here was busy and how they were putting all of her Father's plans into motion. It was terrifying.

"Hey Dramor, do you know where Cole is?" she asked, rubbing the dragon gently, noticing a nasty looking wound on his side. Leanna bid the two goodnight and headed towards the centre. There was a lot going on and Leanna's headache wasn't helping her figure out who was who or what was what, she stumbled into someone, apologising, and carried on. She saw a fire pit and sat down, dizzy and disorientated. Leanna felt exhausted and incredibly down, she hadn't even managed one day in this stupid war without getting hurt and feeling sorry for herself. It was pathetic, part of her wished she was back home in her safe castle. Someone came and sat next to her, "Hey, are you okay?" Mikhel asked, gently placing a hand on her shoulder, "I'm fine" she said meekly, "Feel a bit stupid but other than that..." she gazed into the fire. Mikhel shifted uneasily.

"A lot of people were hurt, not just you, you did great. Pretty sure Sam wanted to thank you before he got called out to help with the recovery." Leanna smiled a little. "I just wish I could do more - I should be out there at the front with a brave face and strong determination. I should be powerful enough to stop all of this..." Mikhel gave her a strange look; "Why would you think any of that? It's not like you're the Queen, right?" The fact that there was no hesitation in his voice told Leanna he still had no idea, and she relaxed her shoulders. "I guess I just wanted to be someone... special" Mikhel smiled, "Don't you worry yourself, you're definitely special to someone"

The explosions had started out of nowhere. Causing disorientation and panic among their soldiers. Cole only felt the blast of a nearby explosion, shielding his eyes. Once he looked at the demage caused he saw with horror how people had been dismembered. Some were allready dead others shouted in agony. Cole's blood ran cold his breathing slowed. That's when he heard Shen's command. "All Riders get on your Dragons and attack their backlines!" He really had an incredibly voice, being able to shout this loudly for them to hear him in this deafening noise around them.

Cole ran out to a more cleared area where he whisteled to call Dramor. Who immediately sat down beside him. He jumped on his back, giving him a quik pat on his neck. "Alright. Let's go my friend." They both lifted themselves into the air. Like many other Riders did. As they made their way towards the enemy they were met with showers of arrows. Most of them would bounce of their armor though some would get stuck in their blind spots. One arrow hit Cole in a slit between his chest protector and shoulder plate. Without a second thought he tore it out and threw it away. The rush of adrenaline numbed all the pain.

Seconds later he signaled for Dramor to crash into the enemies lines. As the dragon landed he bit down on a soldier while crushing many more with his body. Causing almost a small hole in the enemys line. Cole saw the others do the same never landing to far away from each other. Bermond had landed sideways to him, whos dragon was even larger and scalier than Dramor. Cole jumped off Dramor leaving him to tear down soldier on his own while he went forward to slay even more.

Cole was deadly. His senses were at an all time high. He didn't really think, no thinking would be bad in such a situation. His body moved on his own, as if it wasn't his anymore. He had slayed himself a path without realizing that he had been surrounded. But suddenly someone broke through. It was Bermond. Without loosing a word they defeated them together. They nodded to each other and where about to head further when a beastly yell halted Cole in his movement. He turned back towards where they had landed. "Dramor..." He whispered worried. He glanced to Bermond who nodded and said. "Go. I'll handle this." He turned towards the incoming soldiers and Cole began running.

When he arrived he saw how a flock of men had his dear friend pinned to the ground. One of the soldiers seemed to have some sort of spear with a crooked blade. The men was tearing away at Dramor's scales leaving a trail of torn flesh behind. Letting out an angry shout Cole rushed forward. First getting rid of the ones who had spun a net around to keep the dragon down. But as he turned for the guy with the spear, he suddenly was gone. Cole could feel his blood boil. "Where are you? I'm going to fucking kill you!"

After letting off some steam Cole freed Dramor from the net. He gave him an apologetic look, regretting to have left him behind. The dragon was still young. And this has been his first real battle. Of course he wouldn't be able to handle the enemy as well as others. Now together they made their way back forward. Strangely enough the enemy lines began retreating. Cole was about to run after them. He wasn't going to let them go so easily. At least until a hand grabbed onto his ankle.

As Cole looked down he saw Bermond covered in blood with multiple stab wounds. A dreadful foresight hitting his gut. He kneeled down turning the old men over, who groaned in pain. "What- Wh-" He tried to ask but he knew Bermond wouldn't answer him. Blood poured from the mens mouth. Panic stricken Cole heaved the old men up. "You'll get through this!" He pulled him towards Dramor who lowered himself for them to get on. "Don't you dare die on me!" Cole now shouted. He heared Bermond gurgle something before his body gave in and he slumped. As he shouted and shook the old men, his teacher, friend and family he believed to have heard him say. -Take care-

Cole stood amidst many others around a large fire. A fire to dispose of the dead bodies not to cause a sickness or epidemic to the still living ones. His expression was dark and heavy, like the others but with a hint of rage. He swore to himself to take revenge. No matter the cost. The fire reflected in his golden eyes as he looked at the body of his teacher turn to ash in the flames. Forever burning it into his memory. Finding yet another motivation to kill the bastard who had caused all this.

Some time later Shen called for all the soldiers. He stood amids them, slightly disheveled and with a dead serious expression. Yet he still couldn't hide his worry beneath it. "We've been had. The enemy suprised us. In this battle we lost many. And I won't lie. Our situation is pretty dire right now." He paused letting out a deep sigh. "Right now, our options are limited. The enemy retreated for now to reorganize. We could either push ahead." He stopped letting his gaze wander the crowd. Most of them looked awful either because of wounds or missing motivation. "Or we send a small group to the enemies camp to infiltrate and kill their leader."

A deafening silence spread. "This might sound insane, but it might be our last chance. If there are any volunteers please step forward. But know one thing. Those who decide to go. Your chances of return are very, very slim." Many holding their breath either shocked or scared. Cole took a breather before stepping forward without uttering a single word. He crossed eyes with Shen, showing him his determination. Two more people stepped forward. One of them was a burly woman and the other a men in his late 30's with an eyepatch. Probably a wound he had gotten prior to the war. "Are there any more? I need 5 people total." Shen wanted to go himself. But he couldn't allow for chaos to break out. He had to lead the army.

Leanna's head was still swirling when everyone was called by Shen, Mikhel helped her stand and she looked for Cole among the crowd, still concerned for him. Briefly she spotted him, but his eyes were dark and his face scowled at everything and everyone, Leanna wanted to run to him, but she could neither run by herself nor risk the suspicion. Shen spoke of either pushing ahead, a full frontal attack which could be catastrophic, or a small infiltration to take our the Prince. Both idea's sounded awful to her, but it true that the second option was the better one.

And then Cole stood.

Leanna's heart leaped. This was a suicide mission, and Cole was going for it - without so much as a second thought. Internally she fought a mental battle, struggling with what to do, but there was only really one option. "I'll go too" she said, slightly wobbly on her legs, and forgetting to alter her voice. Shen cast her a strange glance, "I want to help". She tried not to look at Cole, knowing he wanted to say something against it. Mikhel also seemed almost, offended, but remained quiet and seated. Once they had enough people, Shen ordered everyone to relax for the night, and that their plann would commence the following morning.

Leanna headed back to the fire and sat down, her head horrendously dizzy. She waited for a little while, wondering what exactly she had gotten herself into, she looked around for Cole. After finding him, she sat next to him. "Should I have just left like I was told?" she asked, hugging her knees, "I wanted to help so badly, to protect the people I would one day rule over. To be a strong and powerful Queen..." she looked saddened, "But honestly I don't know if I'm even capable any more. All I want is this stupid war to end." Leanna let out a sigh, her head still aching slightly. "I know you probably hate me for agreeing to the infiltration, but I had to. I just, I can't just sit back - these people have families and homes to go back to, they deserve a free life. As their Princess I should be the one to lead."

They say together for a while, Leanna leaning against Cole, wanting those desperate and passionate kisses once more. But they had a mission, and the morning came all to quickly. Leanna, Cole and the other two who Leanna learnt were both veteran warriors. Shen was there with them, going through the plan. They were due to take a day's route round the Eastern flank, through a blind spot, from there it was up to them. They had thrown around the idea of taking on the enemies clothing, or to go in like assassins, but no one plan was agreed upon. Leanna headed back to change, and grab her sword when she was approached by Mikhel. "You know I think this is foolish, right?" he said, frowning at her, "You're going to die." Leanna shook her head. "No, I won't. None of us will"

Mikhel punched a nearby tree, "Are you fucking stupid?" he yelled, causing a few glances, "You're gonna die, and for what? For that asshole?" Mikhel's face was fuming and Leanna felt something inside of her snap. "Fuck you". Mikhel recoiled, "I am going so that I can protect my Kingdom." Leanna took the bandages off of her head, her silver hair shining through. "I am fighting for the people that I love, for the people who look up to me. I am fighting for Androa." There was a crowd surrounding them, whispers of realisation that she was the princess spreading like wildfire. "I am fighting for you. And you will not stop me."

She grabbed her gear, finished putting on her armour, and stepped out shaking the hands of the others who agreed to the mission. Leanna had never felt so determined in all her life. With a salute from the Chief's and Generals, they all set out. The older man with an eyepatch, once out of earshot from the main camp, let out a short laugh, patting Leanna on the shoulder. "It's good to have 'ya on the team... Princess. Although I can't be promising any rescues. The names Vin, short for Vincent." Leanna smiled gracefully, "It's a pleasure, Vin." The woman who was almost a whole foot taller than even Cole was next, smiling sweetly, "Your Highness" she said, nodding her head. "I'm Rika. It's an honour". Leanna nodded back, "For me as well, Rika."

Cole shot a glance behind his back as he heard Leannas voice ring forth. This wasn't suppoused to happen. In his rage and misery he had forgotten that she was here as well. He was angry, not just with Leanna but himself, believing to be the cause of her rushed decision. Cole had unknowingly dragged her with him down to hell. Yet he did not speak up. No matter how much he wanted to protest, making a scene would only cause unecesarry attention and he wasn't the person to discuss his problems openly infront of a crowd. Instead he stared down to the ground gripping his fist so strong his knuckles went white.

After Shen was done with his announcement Cole approached him personally. "Sir. You can't let that recruit participate in this!" He grabbed onto Shens shoulder to stop him from leaving. The general though seemed rather cold once he answered. "You mean her?" He brushed Coles hand off stepping back. "I didn't command her to. She made the call herself. It's not by me to stop the people who volunteered. Just like you." He began turning away from him. "You should respect that." Cole watched in awe as Shens back got further away until he dissapeared in his tent. He was incapable of arguing back, silenced by someone who had seen and experienced far more than he could imagine.

Somewhat depressed and sunken into thought Cole dragged himself over to a nearby and almost desolate fireplace. One leg up, the elbow of his arm on it he pressed his palm over his mouth. Even when Leanna approached he didn't move an inch, staring at the crackling flames, listening to her words. He couldn't give her an answer to her question. His throat was still in a knot from Shens previous statement. Her last sentence but made him frown. "Before you are a princess, you are a woman. You have a family to return to as well." He pressed forth in a quit voice, before shutting his mouth again with his hand.

Silence spread and Cole allowed Leanna to lean on him. For a while he felt reliefed for her to be by his side but it soon was thrust aside by the rising anxiety within him. He couldn't shake the cold from his heart. As it reached its peak he couldn't bear it anymore. Standing up bidding the princess a short good night before heading to bed. He had to sleep over it. Over all that happened that day.

On the next day after the briefing Cole went to visit Dramor. Comforting his friend who now appeared more cautious and jumpy than usual. The wound had been tended to mostly but it wasn't the physical demage that caused this change in behaviour in his dragon. Cole knew that. He shouldn't have parted with him just like he shouldn't have parted with Bermond on the battlefield. Yet he did and now look what that had caused. For a brief moment Cole wondered if he simply was the cause of the bad luck of the people around him. Shaking his head in frustration he went back to the tent to pick up his remaining belongigns.

That's when he walked in on Leanna and Mikhel arguing. He didn't catch the beginning of the argument but most of the rest. Appearently he wasn't the only one shocked when Leanna revealed her identity to Mikhel and the onlookers. Cole gave an audibly loud sigh, followed by a lopsided smile. Rushing a hand through his hair. He had to admit that he admired her courage. Being able to stay true to her principles. Whilst he himself opted fighting for personal gain.

So after the formal parting from the army they set out on their route towards the enemies camp. The rest of their group seemed to take the chance to introduce themselves. They seemed rather relaxed and chatty even after knowing that Leanna was the princess. As they walked they made small talk with her, Cole simply following behind them, observing their surroundings. After a while though the eye patch guy decided to slow down to his pace to talk. "Aye. You awfully quit my friend. Cat got your tongue?" Vincent smiled, trying to lighten the mood but Cole only gave him a short cold stare before focusing ahead again. That's when Vincent decided to retreat to the front again. "That's to hard a nut to crack for me." He admitted a little awkwardly feeling.

Through the whole march Cole kept quit always on the lookout. He didn't intend for them to be suprised a second time. They couldn't afford it. Evntually it was time to settle down for camp, revising their strategy. Cole was changing his bandage on his shoulder from the arrow wound. He refused the help of everyone, including Leanna. As he changed they kept discussing their method to infiltrate. Cole was adamantly set for them using the enemies armour to sneak in. They weren't trained to be assasins. Well, maybe except Vincent who could have knowledge in that expertise as he kept playing around with one of his dagers quite skillfully, letting it dance between his fingers.

"Alright. We first keep a low profile gathering information." Cole began. "Once we find the prince's location." Rika added before Vincent intervened. "We isolate him and I strike him down." Having finished bandaging Cole stood up quite displeased by the older men's declaration. "Sorry but that bastard is mine." In the next moment the flame swayed back and forth. Both men having drawn their weapons.

Vincent held his dagger close to Cole's throat while he had his sword priking the stomach of the eye patch. "Not bad. But While you slice me once I'll have sliced you allready three times prior." The older one smiled widely before they slowly began retreating from each other. Cole with a scowl on his face spoke. "Let's see who gets to him first." He sheated his sword putting on his shirt. "That is IF we make it that far." Vincent added rather level-headed. They both stared at each other before Cole approached him once more.

"Can I borrow your dagger for a little bit?" Slightly caught off guard by the request Vincent somewhat reluctantly handed one of his neatly crafted daggers over. They have beautiful ornaments engraved on them. "Don't worry, You'll get it back. Is it clean thought?" Cole asked a little worried, twirling the blade around in his hand. Vincent grinned in return giving him the -ok- sign. "Without even a speck of dust." He said proudly.

Having heard enough Cole turned towards Leanna. He walked up to her grabbing her hand urgently. "Come with me for a moment." He began leading her further into the forest away from the tiny clearing they had their camp at. "Don't go doing anything indecent!" Vincent jokingly called after them, Cole giving him the middle finger without turning back, before they were out of sight and earshot. The one eyed men laughed loudly before dropping back letting his head rest on his arms. "The youth nowdays..." Rika sighed in response as she continued to fry a rabbit above a small fire.

After they had reached enough distance Cole stopped before turning to look at Leanna. He nervously scratched his head clearly struggling with himself to find the right words. "I'm gonna say outright, I hate the idea of you going with me to this mission." He took in a long breath. "But I won't stop you. If that's what you have decided. I'll respect it." He gave her a sad smile before stepping closer. Reaching out his hand he stroke through Leannas hair, presumedly giving her a gentle kiss where her injury was. "At least I'll be able to keep watch on you myself." Cole smiled briefly before he became more serious and nervous again, making a small step back.

Cole's eyes wandered down to the dagger in his left hand. "My mother once told me my father had some..." He struggled for a second to find the right word. "Unorthodox ways to handle, uh, well certain situations." Turning the blade once in his hand Cole gave a chuckle. "As you've seen allready my home isn't grand. My father didn't posses much. But he made do with what he had." He opened his right hands palm pricking one of his fingers with the tip. Making a small droplet of blood flow out. "Bear with me." Cole said as he gently took Leannas left hand and also pricked one of her fingers.

Cole guided both their hands together. Blood on blood. He let them hang in the air only now trully realizing by how much smaller her hands were compared to his. He slowly wrapped his thumb around Leannas hand guiding it closer to his face. Cole gently kissed Leanna's finger he had pricked before, the ring finger. Letting his lips rest on it a few moments before looking her straight in the eyes saying. "It's a promise." With a hint of a smug smile playing across his lips.

(I'm so sorry for my absence! A lot of issues have happened in my personal life - I hope we can pick this up again?)

The small squad was extremely pleasant and their casual small talk helped ease the seemingly unending anxiety in Leanna's heart, throughout their travels they made jokes, gave backstory and swore constantly. She had to admit the language was far more crass than she was used to, but they were sweet and kind and that was all that mattered. Leanna had lost track of time and before she knew it they were stopping to camp - the sun was still up which Leanna thought was strange, "Don't people normally stop when the sun sets?" she asked curiously. Rika gave a short laugh, "Only if you wanna get scouted. It's best to set up before nightfall otherwise it's like having a big target on us, giving away our location". Suddenly, it felt like a foolish question.

They all settled down and the small fire burned low, not giving an awful lot of light or warmth. Leanna tried to help Cole as he re-bandaged his shoulder, but he refused. He refused the help from Rika and from Vince. It irked her to see him play so defensively, they would have to work together if they wanted to pull through this - it was not a suicide mission! As they sat around Cole brought up their plan, it was barely two seconds and both he and Vince had their weapons drawn "Calm down!" she yelled, although Rika just laughed. The two settled... slowly calming once again until Cole borrowed Vince's dagger, and asked her to follow.

These moments always made Leanna's heart jump and her face redden, when it was just her and Cole she felt a happiness she had never known before. they walked a small way so that they were out of sight and hearing range of the others, he spoke much softer, telling her straight how much he hated her being out here, but that he respected her. "If I can do anything to protect my Kingdom I will. Don't forget you are a part of that... I'm not going to lie, the thought of you fighting alone scared me. I hated that I wouldn't be there in case- in case the worst happened..." She allowed Cole to take her hand and prick her finger, he placed them together, mixing blood, making a promise.

Leanna smiled sweetly, adoring how gentle and caring he was when they had moments like this. She kissed him on the lips chastely, "And I promise as well. Although mine in more to not get in the way than anything else" she added with a small playful smile on her features. She kissed him again, more passionately this time, and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, Leanna placed her forehead against his "Don't do anything too reckless". She stayed holding him for a short while, until it became so dark that it was difficult to see. "We should head back..." she whispered, wondering if it was possible to just spend the night holding each other. As they headed back to the camp Leanna felt her anxiety return, but she pushed it to the back of her mind. "Aye the two lovebirds return; hope you've not dirtied our Princess?" Vin said with a wicked grin on his face, eyebrows raised at Cole. Leanna's face exploded with colour and she stuttered trying to deny his accusations; "Sir Vin, please!" was all she could manage, blushing harder as both he and Rika laughed. Leanna pouted, sitting down and ignoring their please for forgiveness, "Honestly you're so crude" she said, helping herself to some of the rabbit and looking lost on how to eat it without the proper utensils. Rika chuckled and sat next to her, giving her all forms of womanly guidance; including tips on fighting.

They all decided to sleep in turns, for someone to keep watch and unanimously agreed on the order of things, Leanna would watch first. It was scary, to be awake and technically the single thing between these people and death - she steadied her breathing, the fire now a dim glow of embers. The wind was cold, and although Cole was close beside her she could tell he wasn't actually sleeping, Leanna smiled but didn't say anything to give away that she knew, hopefully he would fall asleep soon. The night seemed to drag on for ages, time was going just as slowly as it used to when she was locked the castle, ticking by with each second getting longer. She sighed and began to gently clean and take care of their weapons and supplies, she had to do something. Dramor and Azutri stirred behind her, both sleeping soundly, although it appeared Dramor slept in rather unusual positions. Leanna watched the moon change it's position and moved to gently wake Cole, who's turn was next.

"Cole?" she whispered, shaking his shoulder. He had actually drifted off which made her smile, she leant down and kissed his temple, "It's your turn to keep watch now" she smiled as he opened his eyes and went to get some sleep herself. She lay there for a while, watching Cole as he stretched a little and sat by the firepit, she wondered what might be going on back at home - how her parents must be feeling. It wouldn't take long before news of her being in the military would reach the castle, after her outburst she was sure it would be talk of the kingdom for quite some time. Tomorrow she knew it would be more marching, more watching, more scouting - but they had said that the third day would be in enemy territory, they would finally have to risk their lives every second they spent there. Leanna shivered slightly, her anxiety returning. She had Cole, and she had Azutri - she'd be fine.
