The Whole World

You ever had something you wanted to show the world?
A good friend, a nice drawing, a song?

I've had many things I've wanted the whole world to know/see.
I know not everyone will like it or be impressed.

I hate tons of attention being on me.
I never wanted to be the center, and like to blend in with the crowd.
But sometimes I want the whole world to pay attention to me.
I'm a very humble person and don't have a lot of self-esteem, but when I find something that makes me happy or write or draw something I'm happy with, I want everyone to know about it.

I was in choir for most of my life.
I started in kindergarten, and quit when I was about 17.
I love music and lyrics to things, and I post them everywhere.
But not many people see it or care.
And I wish people would pay attention or care.
Music is a huge thing in my life and always will be, and want to share it with others.
Music is very powerful, and some people don't even pay attention.
Or people make fun of deep lyrics, and call it "emo".
Which is a spit in the face of people who wrote them and people who understand and feel them.

I'm also someone who draws and writes.
All kinds of paintings and drawings and sculptures are so amazing.
When I see something beautiful, I want to show the whole world.
And I tend to get obsessive with showing people who don't even care.

Do you want to show something to the whole world?

Do I have something I want to show the whole world?

Wow, you always come up with really interesting questions. And it always makes me think.

Although first your words about the power of music made me go put on a song. :)

So.... I think, yes. At first, no, but then the more I thought -yes.
The power of silence.
The power of laughter.
The power of speech.

In that order, though -a lot of people I encounter lately don't seem to realize the power of silence at all, or they think it's a sign of something wrong, and never come to see the utter peace you can only get with silence.
But silence can be a cage, too, and there's nothing better to break it with than laughter.
Which is healing and unifying, but also, laughter can be cruel and unkind and I wish people could realize its full power, for good or ill, so that laughter would be something to be respected instead of hidden or choked off.
And last, the power of speech, which was something I thought a LOT about today, MLK day. I know that's an "American" day but his message is so powerful, and so important, and I feel like it's something the world should hear and know, and it made me think about the power of speech, and communication....

So.

The power of silence, the power of laughter, and the power of speech.

These three things would I show the world.

Not really.
There are things that I like but I don't want to show EVERYONE. Just friends and stuff.

But I totally understand that feeling of wanting to share something with everyone.
