I think you mentioned it on the vlog at least.

I get where you're coming from, I was intimidated by the iron in the beginning as well (even though I wouldn't say I was actually scared), but I got used to it pretty quickly. Now I iron right next to my fingers if I have something tricky (like ironing the bias tape for the neckline of the green top) and the edge even touches my fingers for a moment sometimes, it's not actually that bad.
Maybe it will lose some of its scariness once you actually use it for you as well? Good luck!

I am such a scaredy cat haha. My main worry is dropping it, of all things. Even when J is ironing something I'm scared to walk by in case I somehow nudge the ironing board and the iron drops onto my feet~

But it's definitely something I should try. I did it when I was a kid, weirdly enough, and I wasn't scared then.

Whoops, read the thread on mobile and wanted to reply from home but forgot again... Sorry!

jacob, I'm sure you'll get less worried if you start using it for a bit. Especially if you already used it in the past without issue. :)

Thank you Ashiya! And of course I gladly followed your IG, such pretty pictures :)

Haha, I know how you feel!

I'm slowly making some progress on the embroidery, but nothing much. I want to actually finish this project soon, so that I can start crocheting again.

I did end up stitching the hem of my crochetback top again, but I haven't actually tried it on to see if it improved matters :D I just did it in a hurry because I wanted to change the thread in my machine to sew something for my bf and I didn't want to have to switch back just for that one seam.
Oh, maybe the thing I did for my bf is actually worth mentioning. He wanted some buttons on the pockets of his shorts, so I tried the buttonhole functionality of my machine for the first time for real - which is great, since the skirt I want to make next has pockets like that as well and also some buttons to close it, so I'll need that.
Unfortunately I had to sew on the buttons themselves by hand, since they were to thick and did not fit into my machine with the little plastic thingy that needs to go under the fabric according to the manual.

That's a shame! My first attempt at a button hole by machine went really badly. I ended up thinking I should have just done it by hand, it would have been neater XD

I wouldn't even know how to do a button hole by hand :D
I mean, I could try to do what the machine is doing, but that looks like it would take forever by hand...

I guess that answers the question I thought about - "is there a better way to do it by hand?" :D
