Ah right. I wasn't sure, thanks for explaining! :)
In german we call them what would translate to spaghetti strap tops - which I find wonderfully descriptive of the concept :D
Do you ever call the halter ones "neckholder tops"? Because that's literally what we call them in german, not translated or anything - but then again, german often has words that are somehow derived from english ones but aren't used like that or don't even exist in english -.-

No, I never heard that! Haha, how funny. We can say spaghetti straps sometimes also though I think.

Yeah, germans are weird :D
I mean, we call our cellphones "handys" (pronounced like an english word) and you might have heard of our use of "public viewing" ;)

I didn't hear of that before, but it sounds like just how I would use it anyway :D

Hm, okay, maybe it's just americans or something who use it differently. But I've read that people in some parts of the world find that really weird.

Probably haha. Or it could be because I'm from the art world, and a private view there is just coming to look at someone's gallery before it opens, so public view sounds completely normal also :D

That could be it, too :)

I finally started one of my skirt projects!
It's actually the newest one, I bought both the pattern and the fabric in december when I was travelling. But it has a paper pattern, so I didn't have to print and glue which made it the most tempting to start ;)

I just finished transferring all the pattern pieces onto the fabric. That was a lot of work though :D
I hope everything will work out, since I completely ignored all the instructions on the pattern about the grain of fabric, since I wanted the stripes in the fabric to go the other way. We'll see if I bitterly regret that in the end ;)

Here's the fabric:

It already has the pattern pieces on it, but you probably can't see that on the picture.

The pattern I'm using is burda style 6375, variant A (the longer, yellow one in the picture).

So... yay, project kicked off! :)

I'm not as crafty as i used to be, but enjoy making those things like loom bracelets or jewel bead from time to time. I miss my crafty/DIY phase...it was wonderful, i now tend to inclugde and admire others work alot, although i have had an increased interest in jewelry work.

Welcome to the thread Driverscissors! :)

Jewellery making sounds fun, I don't have any experience with that. The closest thing I ever did was probably putting some nail polish on chopsticks to make hair sticks out of them :D
Do you have something specific you'd like to try out if you had the time /energy for it?
Is there a reason why you don't do as much crafting as you used to? Lack of time? Lack of inspiration?
