I love Clue (we call it Cluedo) and Monopoly too! I need to have kids and wait ten years so I can start playing with them X'D I love checkers but chess is too long and boring for me. I can't wait, I want to play my strategy right away. Or maybe it's a different kind of strategy that I use. I don't know. All I know is J beats me every time we play and I just get frustrated with it XD

I love board games! I always have, to a point that nobody in my family wanted to play with me, because I could play all day long and I ended up playing by myself :mcheh: So now that Ash bought the board game Everdell (it's a city builder with cards and resources and stuff, really cool, we also got some expansions for it :mcsquee: ), I could play that game non stop, although I'm not really good, Ash usually wins by alot, even when I'm lucky during the game and he's complaining, somehow at the end of the game he still beats by me by some 10+ points :mclol:
Never played Clue, but I'm guessing it's fun, lol. But I'm not fond of the Monopoly, unpopular opinion, everybody loves it and I'm like meh.
I have a huge sentiment for chess, even though I'm not really good at it as much, especially I haven't played it in a longtime. But my grandpa was really good at it and he'd teach me how to play. I still have his old chess, it's rough-looking, but it's the one he taught me on, so it's close to my heart. Now, Ash also likes playing chess and he's really good at it too (when I told granny, she was like "aaawwh, if your grandpa lived they would be playing together!"). Ash actually learns some professional chess stuff, like entrances, moves etc. It's black magic for me. I'm the kind of person who just wants to have fun while playing, I'm not that much into winning. But I do not like when someone thinks too long about their next move in chess. Like, there's only a few possibilities at some point, just pick the safest or take some risk but just move already XD And Ash tends to think longer the longer we play, so atthe end I might get sleepy from boredom :mcheh:

jacobgrey: I remember playing Monopoly with my dad and my step-sister and her friend.
We had a lot of fun. My step-sister's cat was lying ontop of the money like it was all hers xD

Mem: I had a mini Sorry! game I'd play by myself. I don't think anyone would be interested if I asked them to play a board game.
My mom bought one game for like $30 and it just rotted away in the closet ._.
I don't even remember what it was >>

My dad loves chess. I played a few times with him, but I didn't know what to do so he'd tell me what to do. Which isn't really fun 8u
I know they had this really nice chess set I wanted to buy him.
I think it was made of silver and had Wizards and dragons as pieces and he loves those.
It was expensive and I never got it u,8

Sorry! sounds fun, I googled it :mclaugh: But it'd be "too easy" for Ash, he's more into all the nerdy, detailed, complicated ones. I suck at them, but I play, cause it's still fun XD Unless I play with someone who only wants to win and throws a mini (or major) tantrum if they lose, that ruins the fun for me.
I was playing Memory and Super Farmer by myself as a kid, that's the most prominent titles I remember. We had a lot of board games, but my mom was working or tired after work, my sister wanted to spend time with her friends (or just didn't want to spend time with me on board games, but to do her own thing) and my dad wasn't always there and if he was, he might've not been in a good state for playing games... So I played alone :mcsweat:
I had this one friend in elementary school who liked playing games but we could never finish a game, because whenever she saw she was starting to lose, she'd just say she's bored and let's do something else. It always pissed me off a little, not because I was winning and wanted to continue (although I always feared that's the case, lol), but I just I hate things being unfinished XD

Oh yeah, chess fancy chess sets are hella expensive. The one I bought Ash for Christmas was a little over $100, and I'd say that's still pretty cheap, made of wood and plastic. But silver chess must cost a fortune.

Edit: Forgot to mention, yesterday my mom and I visited granny, 'cause it was her 81st b-day *confetti rain for granny* and I couldn't help myself and showed them my pretty tarot deck (they're both pretty religious, christianity, Jesus, church, all that stuff, so I was kinda nervous). First thing my grandma said was "oh, can you foretell some things for me? ", which was totally unexpected, but I'm noticing now how interested she is in the ezoteric stuff and always have been. Told her I'm a total beginner and I didn't get my book with better references, but I'll try xD And my mom at first was put off for a little bit, then after granny got so excited, she also wanted some fortune telling and all the time she was like "omg, that's exactly what I'm going through/what I need, how do they know that?! 8u" I'm still wondering who "they" are, but I didn't dare to start with that XD I'm just happy mom didn't curse me out :mclaugh:

Yeah, I play to have fun so I don't care about winning.
So losing won't elicit a tantrum from me.

>XD
I don't think I've had that happen.
Someone losing and just being like "SO BOOOOORED >8U"

Yeah, it was pretty pricey...I still wish I would have been able to get it.
My dad always says "You don't need to get me anything \8U/"
He gets me stuff all the time. That's one-sided and not fair >8u

Happy birthday to her 8888D
I'm glad she was excited about it x3
I had a teacher like that...I was asking people their Astrological sign and some people were like "That's devil worship!" and I asked my favorite teacher and she smiled and said "I'm a Cancer 8D"

This is exactly how I feel XD I want to continue playing even when I am losing, so long as we can *keep playing*. But as soon as J starts to lose he gets grumpy. Sometimes if I am having fun, I will lose on purpose hahahaha.

I play a game that has a toxic fanbase and people will insult you for not being top tier at the game.
I had someone tell me they lost brain cells watching me play and I suck.
Meanwhile, I got more points than they did and they died way before I did xD

People get so upset over a GAME. Like...the game is meant to be fun. You're supposed to have FUN.

Yeah, I don't get it either. To me it just seems kind of sad that winning is so important to some ppl. There's more important stuff in life than winning...

Yeah, with all the sickness and quarantine and people dying, losing a match is SOOOOOO serious and definitely requires you to throw a tantrum and cuss people out and even use racial slurs Bu

Only thing I can think of is these people are young. There's no way an adult would act like that.
But I'm pretty sure it's adults too Bu

Ash's friend, who's about 10 years older than us, gets really grumpy and childish over not winning. Not even losing. Losing is "the worst" thing that can happen to him, but even not being the first one is bad in his mind. He doesn't cuss people out or make any comments, it's still kept as friendly banter like "you son of a bitch, why'd you block me like that" etc., but still, he's genuinely upset over not winning. And I can'tunderstand that.
Maybe it's an ego thing, idunno.
