So, are there any March comes in like a lion fans?

It's a new animation of studio Shaft, having it's premiere this winter. The manga is going on for quite some time, though, so I've heard there's going to be a next season this fall.

It's a more serious slice of life revolving around shogi. I love this genre, but I'm not a shogi fan, so at first I wasn't sure what to expect. The first few episodes also seemed a bit boring. But then, as the show slowly introduced what there's really going on, I started to immensely enjoy it. I can't wait for the second season :mclol:

So, if there's anyone who knows it... What are your thoughts?

Not going to lie. This anime got me into shogi. I legit bought a game board off Amazon just to play IRL.

That being said, I really like March Comes in like a Lion. It's such a wholesome slice of life shogi story. The work they did on the anime is great, especially the watercolor vibes. Really adds to how touching the episodes are. I really like some of the deeper, more philosophical/existential issues the story deals with, too. Their portrayal of mastering shogi - diving over and over into dark water - was really inspiring and gave me goosebumps.
