Friend Requests

Hey, this has been an issue for awhile but I'm finally putting something here. I made a friend request to an unverified account a long time ago and I can't rescind the request so it shows up on my profile as a broken image that says (waiting).
When I click on the hyperlink it takes me to an error message:

Edit: To clarify, the user was someone that I knew who never verified their account or possibly deleted it before they could accept my friend request.
