Pet Adoption Sites?

Anyone know of any good pet adoption sites (for the United States) where I can find good homes for two stray kitties I'm taking care of?

I don't want to Craigslist them because that just seems... weird. I dunno maybe I'll try it eventually if all else fails. :mcmeh:

I've found adoptapet.com and it SEEMS like a great idea because it has the adopters fill out questionnaires with stuff like "Would you prefer a cat that is affectionate or aloof" to help you match a pet's personality with a potential home. Sadly the site is glitchy garbage and most of the time won't let me upload photos or change text, and even though it keeps encouraging me to add a video IT WON'T LET ME FREAKING ADD IT WHY I'VE TRIED LITERALLY OVER 20 TIMES.

Ahem.

Several others I've found will let you search adoptable pets, but not post any pets of your own you need to find homes for. :mcsweat:

Unless, anyone here want a fluffy, dainty, tortoiseshell princess with a raspy, whispery meow who likes sitting on your desk and cleaning you? :mcwink: How about a tuxedo fellow who'll give you a kiss if you make a kissy sound?

Yeah I know who doesn't want those!! I love them already and don't want them to go. :mcangry: Sadly I've already got three damn cats who don't get along with each other, and these two extra damn cats are really turning this house into madness. IT'S MADNESS. MADNESS AND CHAOS.

Anyway. All suggestions welcome.

You can look for local pet adoption groups on facebook. I have also had good luck with craigslist. Whenever I am interested in a craigslist animal, I tell the person about myself and also invite them to come over to see our house. I also offer pictures and updates, but no one has ever taken me up on that. So don't be afraid to say a home check is required or something like that.

Gumtree is a good site.

When I was looking to adopt a cat myself, I spent a bit of time looking through the ads. I eventually found my cat through facebook via a rehoming group but I am sure even listing ads on general sites would work as well.

Unfortunately I am not in the US cause I would of had interest in taking the tortie. I have a short haired tortie - 2 years old, and I think she needs a little mate.

And I know most people just want you to meet the cat and see if you get along. When I saw my cat on fb, all I had to say was interested and arranged a date to go and meet her with no strings attached.

I go to Petfinder dot com when I'm on a pet search.
