I shall try to come up with a poem, haven't written one in a while, but I actually enjoy them a lot.
Do you have any specific ideas as to what hurdles in life might be relevant to your friends? You left the topic pretty open, which is of course nice, so much creative freedom, but if you have some more concrete ideas that you think would fit I'd find that inspiring as well :)

They've had a rough childhood, forcing them to grow up and mature too soon for their age. Sarah in particular got bullied and teased at times in school, and they don't have a good relationship with their very controlling mother.

Alex left to live on her own very early with a not so steady income, she lived in her student dorm for a long time. But she's managed to pull through and now rents her own apartment! c:

Sarah is also living on her own in a neighbouring country right now, which I'm really proud of cause she's really self conscious and never expected she'd have the strength to make it on her own! c:
