Because I was not asked to do so. Pokodoki asked me to make an announcement about her contest.
I did announce it on facebook though, but our facebook range is so limited that usually only around 20 people there see our posts even though over 1K liked the page. I also mentioned it in this month's newsletter, but not sure many people really read that one. Unless you have money to spend on it is hard to reach people online these days.

If Limikkin wants to I can make an announcement, though it's really late with just one week left, at least for the art contest part. Our official art contests usually had 4 weeks and we hardly got any entries in the end. I don't think we have many artists here on KofK anymore.

I think it isnt the problem of less artist, but the people sadly hasnt time anymore, because of work, studies, mothership etc.
I always feel sad cuz I know there are so many nice and cute ideas out there.

I know that many users try to make kofk more popular.
It would be sad without this magical place.

But work, studies and mothershop always existed, that's not a new development. The lack of active users - including artists - on the other hand is a noticable trend over the past years.

Hmm I guess you´re right I´ve seen the same things on DA with the ones I am watching.
But the ones that remain make beautiful art.

Nearly same here.
But I do my best to draw some fanarts in a while, but the most turn out worse in the end so I dont post them.

I am more of a hobbyist than an artist, so it´s okay for me not being incredibly skilled.

I can't really remember having more free time when I went to school/university. All I remember is studying all the time and being stressed all the time.




But I think a lot of users just "grew out" of this site and where new users should have joined and taken their place, it just did not happen and now there is hardly anyone left to participate in anything here. I already suspected that hardly anyone would bother to join a contest as people don't even bother to log in to collect a free item these days and if they can't be bothered to do even that for a free item, why would they go through the effort of actually doing something for a chance at winning something.

Wished for that as a shop item to have it in ALL colors.

For some its also a lack of selfconfidence I think.
Like 'I cant draw that nice, so I dont try at all!'

(my sister is that way, but with writing! Such a pity she has so nice ideas!)

Yeah, buts ince no so few people bothered to log in and collect the sword it's now a "rare" item. Figure that, a free item.

Oh yeah, I know that. I remember when we had the official art contests and one time a certain user (who like many others isn't an active member anymore...) would write in the announcement that she'd take part in the contest a lot of poeple said stuff like "oh, I don't stand a chance then, will not take part". That was really sad.

Firn, I would have if I was not so busy. I feel like these contests just need to be longer so people can find a good time to make stuff.
I gotta say too... It is hard to be supportive of this site when I see how much the owner seems to have given up on the place though.

I wanted to draw a picture on my Youtube Stream then make a speed draw video out of it. Then at the end tell people to check the site out.
