The 2020 Reading Challenge

If you have a reading goal for 2020, feel free to talk about it and keep track of it here!

The Goal:

The goal can be anything you want: Reading 1 book in 2020, 10 books in 2020, 25 books in 2020, 50 books in 2020, 100 books in 2020, reading a certain series in 2020, reading a certain number of pages in 2020, reading the same book 50 times in 2020, etc. Your goal is whatever you want and whatever is challenging yet still fun for you. It's a personal challenge, not a contest. So you set your goal and go at your own pace.

The Books:

You can count or not count any books you want. If you want to count audio books, then do it. If not, then don't. If you want to count manga, then do it. If not, then don't. If you want to count magazines, then do it. If not, then don't. If you want to count books for school, then do it. If not, then don't. It's all up to you!

The Rules:

1. Follow KofK's rules.

2. Don't make fun of anyone for having a different goal than you. We all have different obligations, and priorities, and free time, etc, so all of our reading goals are going to be different, and that's ok. One person might easily finish a 500 page book in a few days, while someone else might struggle to finish 500 pages in a few months, and that's ok. We're not racing, rushing, or competing. We're motivating, encouraging, and having fun.

3. If you want to talk about something that happened in a book, put it in a spoiler.

Who Can Join:
Anyone! Just jump in and say what your goal is!

Deadline for joining:
Feel free to join in any time before 2021!

It's almost 2020, so it's time to start thinking about what those goals will be! I'm thinking maybe 20 for me this year.

I'm doing this!
I think I only read one book in 2019 so I'm determined to work on reading more this year.

I'd love to hear some recommendations~

It would be silly of me not to recommend my own series 8D Serial Investigations is 3 books right now, will be at least 6 by the end of 2020.

For my own goal I am doing 52 books again. I hit it two years in a row now but this year was much more difficult. So I don't think I should add on further books, but rather aim for the same again.

I am going to join in this year since my goal every year is to read more! Last year was 12, but I'm only got 9 1/2 read since I got bored of a book and just put it down. I really need to convince myself I can probably read another book at the same time when one gets boring to me (as long as I go back to it).

For 2020, I am planning on reading 15 books, which is a little less than one and half books a month, which is doable for me.

Haha, yep. I make a living as an author and ghostwriter. But I wouldn't recommend to you any of the stuff I ghostwrite because usually other people come up with the plot and it isn't to my taste XD

I'm starting my first book now: Demons by Dostoyevsky. It's hella big so no way I will finish it before the new year.

@wulfalice I don't know what to suggest really other than making a goal for monthly and trying to stick to it. Use the challenge as motivation to read even when you don't feel like it. Once you get into a couple of pages you'll likely enjoy it and be glad you did.
