I finished "understanding comics" thanks to figuring that non-fiction is good to read in bed. if you don't commute anymore, you've got to find other ways. so yay, the third book goes towards the challenge

'Understanding Comics'
by Scott McCloud

not sure what's manageable by the end of the year but I'll try to read as much as I can from Eisner's "comics and sequential art" by the end of the month and then will focus on the two non-fiction books about various curious things in the russian language, in search of material for my new course in winter. if I don't find anything, at least that's two more books this year

Spoiler

'Comics and Sequential Art'
by Will Eisner

'Русский без нагрузки'
by Юлия Андреева

'Русский язык на грани нервного срыва. 3D'
by Максим Кронгауз

Bumping in to say I got stuck on the Hobbit (not because it's bad or anything, just can't organize my time properly) and I don't think I'll hit 5 books this year xD Unless I'll count the punctuation dictionary and textbook on editing that I need to read :mcsweat:

To be completely honest, I can't even remember how many books I've read this year :mcheh: I might be able to check it in my TBR list, but I'm not even sure.

What a coincidence, one week later and I'm in exactly the same position, trying to rush-finish a book to review it by the end of the day :qhehe: it's one of those days today where I just want a day to relax and yet everyone keeps messaging and emailing and texting me.

They're work-related, so I can't ignore them for very long... also when you're reading on your phone and the notifications are appearing right on the screen it's hard to not read them haha

I finished The Middle of the Road. I liked it. Read some To Kill A Mockingbird last night.

I didn't finish Eisner's 'Comics and Sequential Art' by August but I'm halfway through and the book is not the easiest so that's something
