From The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock.

Question #84: Would you have one of your fingers surgically removed if it somehow guaranteed immunity from all major diseases?

If this includes all diseases and illnesses that cripple you at old age, than it sounds like a bargain to me. Just tell me where to sign.

as long as it's not either one of my middle fingers, my right index finger, or either one of my thumbs, hell yeah. Gotta be able to flip the bird, and draw.

I would 100% do this, no need to think about it, doesn't matter which finger.

I can live without a finger if it means not getting an illness that will emotionally hurt my loveones. :}

Absolutely! It would take some adjusting, but there's plenty of people who've lost a finger and not having to fear a major disease would be huge.

(though I'll admid this question has become a bit more loaded than probably intended, given the pandemic)

Yes, I would. I might be particular about which finger though. XD
