PastelWitch, what really helped me was focusing on restricting certain foods instead of counting calories. It's easier, you don't need to focus so much on amounts - but on type of foods.

I actually did a Whole30.
I don't think it's for everyone but it did help me fix recognize some of my issues with help.
I still have no self-control, but I've learned to love drinking unsweetened tea or that an abundant healthier breakfast gets me started on a better path.

Sorry I've only just seen this; I think that's definitely a better option for me because I forget to count/log the numbers constantly - if I have snacks in the house I can't seem to control myself so I have to just not buy them at all.

Not heard of Whole30 but I'll look it up!

What ever happened to hypnosis to lose weight? It was like a fad at some point, right, and maybe it was all garbage and scammers, but I still believe it's possible to hack the human brain that way...
