People in the forum have been gathering information on several topics, mostly by testing themselves and sharing data with others.
It's entertaining too! :mclaugh:

Yep, as Amura said, we just kind of gradually gather info over time, and then it's useful to have one place to write down what you discover so you don't forget it later -or maybe that's just me.

Also, some of this is through careful testing, because I would notice something and then want to find out if I was fooling myself or not, so in between events it's something to work on and entertain myself with.

For instance, I'm still gathering complete listings of which materials are found in which areas.

I'm doing that by storing all the materials in my inventory into an open trade, so that everything is zero'd out, and then I go digging in one specific area. I record what I get at the end, then do whatever else I want digging-wise and clear the inventory again so that next day I can continue the test.
Over time, I should be able to complete the listings for each area.
Then any time I want to do a quest, I can look at what materials I still need, and come here to see which areas they are found in.
It'll save me frustration down the line, and for right now, I'm amusing myself with this made-up goal.

I don't know particularly what drives anyone else to gather the info, but it's definitely not just me; much of this information was gathered by other people too! It's an effort by KofK society as a whole that creates these repositories of knowledge. :)
You can add to it, too, if you'd like!

Right, done with Air area.
I'm pretty darn sure at this point, that's all there is to find there.

Anyone have a preference which I should work on next, or just randomly go forth and continue?

I'd go darkness next, but that's just my opinion, since air is at the top, and the rest are around it like a clock almost...
