Question #102: How close and warm is your family? Do you feel your childhood was happier than most other people's?

I'm close with my daughter. My husband is more of a roommate than anything else. I'm fairly close with both of my sisters, but not with either of my brothers.

My mother was abused as a child, and she crossed the line more than I'm sure she wanted to. So, I don't think my childhood was happier than most people's; though it was better than some, I'm sure. I was close to my mother once I was grown. Life growing up in the house with her wasn't great, but I know that she fought hard within herself to not be like her mother.

I don't know most of my family. I've had a lot of alcohol and drug abuse in my family, so I wouldn't say it was happier than most others.
I feel my family is strong and cares about each other.
Unfortunately, there's not a whole bunch of us left.

My oldest sister basically alienated herself from the rest of us, so we only see her at one of her kid's birthday parties, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Is a whole thing
My second sister, because she isn't mom's kid, basically has no contact with us. And not from lack of trying. We gave up
My brother, see him here and there. Usually when dropping off his oldest two for the weekend (ugh)
Of my parents, I think dad gets me more
Mom...she nags. A lot. About anything and everything. Including her own messes. She also tries and makes me do stuff all the time. No surprise the tarot reader said the cards called her controlling. And that I'm not as close to her

I don't remember 90% of my childhood. There's literally pictures from vacations that I don't remember the trip at all.

Yeah I'd say my childhood was pretty good.

That's one hell of a loaded question right there. And the answer is waaay too complicated to detail here. But overall I guess my family is pretty close?

I don't remember 90% of my childhood.
Hey, me too. I was wondering if that's unusual.

My childhood was ok. Not great but not the worst. I'm pretty close with my mother.

Not in my experience. I have bits and pieces that I remember very clearly, but then there are huge holes.
