I haven't been reading much lately. I have been crocheting a lot instead.

I'm still working on Rhythm of War. My goal is to finish by the 15th. I got less than 400 pages left. Pretty sure I can get it done by then, but now I'm distracted by working outside because it got nice outside.

Meanwhile I'm still reading that same thing, although the word 'reading' is a big stretch. :mclol:

And book one for the year is now completed. I think I'll take a little break before starting book two for the year.

I finished The Kite Runner. I almost gave up on it. The writing style was pretty simple, but the subject matter was really difficult

I remember seeing that book when I was in middle school (around 10-13). I don't remember how many people read it, I know I never did, but I'm wondering how kids that young would process that.

Hi Saphira! I'm sorry for the late reply, but I'll rec some now.

For witchcraft, Energy Essentials for Witches and Spellcasters and The Un-spell Book, both by Mya Om. Also Miracle Mastery by David Debolt. Also any books by Tylluan Penry are excellent, like Knot Magic and Magic on the Breath.

For tarot, Melissa Cynova's Kitchen Table Tarot, anything by Rachel Pollack, especially 78 Degrees of Wisdom, and Ethony's Your Tarot Court. Also Barbara Walker's The Secrets of the Tarot: Origins, History and Symbolism.

Akili Li wrote:People talk about bravery in these super dramatic terms like it only applies to soldiers going to war, but for all that I think true courage is found in the hard every day moments of social interaction and standing up for what you believe in even when it's not life-or-death, when it's instead a matter of approval-or-ostracization among people whose opinions you care about. That's harder, to my mind. That's an ongoing, you have to live with it forever thing, instead of one single moment that's the exception instead of the rule.

I accidentally put way too many books on hold at the library. I am picking them up tomorrow. So I better start reading faster...
