My numbers would look much better then lol!

I finished Castle in the Air (Howl's Moving Castle #2) by Diana Wynne Jones. I read it a few years ago but didn't remember it at all.

I'm starting to freak out because the year is almost half over. maybe it's not a year for reading or maybe it's just the first half. who knows

I'm not freaking out, but I'm kind of disappointed in myself. So far I read one book from my list, still haven't finished the book I started last year and on top of all things I started another book that's isn't even on my list :mcargh: thank God it's not too long and I'll have some use from reading it.

I'm kind of disappointed in myself too because I read so much last year and this year I can't motivate myself to go really read. Halfway through the year and I've only read two books.

Same, I was just looking over what I've read this year and thinking it did not look very impressive!

I finished Beauty and the Beast by Taylor Ryan. I thought it was mediocre.

Did that thing I said I wasn't going to do this year and that is going to a bookstore. I had gotten a giftcard for my birthday so technically I didn't spend money on it... I just love adding books to my collection that I wont read for years upon years.

I finished Laura, which was good, but I like the movie better.

I started Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys, which is very good so far.

I started Spindle's End by Robin McKinley, which is a Sleeping Beauty retelling and is very good so far.

I started Child of the Grove by Tanya Huff. I'm only a little ways into that one, but I'm liking it so far.

And I started a JUV book called The Fire Within (The Last Dragon Chronicles #1) by Chris d'Lacey, which I am also liking so far.

I'm not exactly disappointed but it definitely hasn't been a year of reading. started Circe with a friend though, am likely to finish

Oh, a reading challenge, this is cool!
I always create my yearly challenge at GoodReads, but this year I miscalculated. Oh, so miscalculated.
I planned to read 30 books this year, but I have already read 27.

Some of those books are on the short side, but most importantly my son is starting to like having alone-time. Which means mommy and daddy also get some alone time themselves :mclaugh:
And if you are thinking about something naughty, nope, I meant we have more time to read :mclaugh:

I think I'm gonna re-challenge me here: My aim will try and keep the pace.
I would say 50 books but that sounds like a lot - I haven't read that much in many years, even before my son was born.
I don't know, maybe I can re-build my challenge according to genders or type of books, instead of simply a number.
Does anybody here do that kind of challenge?
