Nice to be back

I actually completed my 2021 challenge on GoodReads, and it's only August :|
But there are some kind of books that I've neglected recently, and I would like to make sure than in the next months I read more:
- books in Galician language
- classic books that I had never read before
- books about feminism
- books abouth Maths

My goal is 20 books. I am currently at 14. But a few of them were really quick reads. Recently I finished Spindle's End by Robin McKinley, Adulthood Is a Myth
(Sarah's Scribbles #1) by Sarah Andersen, and Big Mushy Happy Lump (Sarah's Scribbles #2) by Sarah Andersen.

Wow, 14 out of 20 by August is quite a good pace!
I'm sure you'll manage to do it quickly.

Would you recommend any of the ones you mentioned?

I'm almost done with Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys now, which I am also liking a lot so far, so I'm hoping I like the ending too!

Looked them up.

Spindle's End may be interesting, retelling of classic tales are amusing at least.
In that subgenre I loved Spinning Silver, by Naomi Novik.


Between Shades of Gray is probably a bit more serious a read than I'm looking forward right now, but nonetheless the summary is interesting.

I finished Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys. It was a really easy read in terms of language difficulty, but it was a kind of tough read in terms of subject matter. It's serious, and dark, and depressing. But I liked it, although I thought the ending was kind of meh. The book went into such detail about so many things, then it was almost like the author got sick of writing it because then it just jumps to an ending without really showing you how it came about.

That just happens too often.
Too quick ends, which are not up to the standards of the rest of the book.
May not be terrible but it's always a bit disapointing.


The one I'm reading is health divulgation.
I like the author's blog, he does a great job, but his books are meh.

I started reading An Abundance of Katherines by John Green

Finally got around to reading another book because I'm highly motivated to read now. Autumn has always been my good reading season. Winter as well.

Anyway, I started Valor by John Gwynne.
I know I won't hit my reading goal this year, but let's see how many more I'll complete in the next 3 months.
