I finished reading this so-called essay on "usefulness" - which is a topic I love - but it was quite disappointing.
Let's move onto fiction again, so I can forget about it :mclaugh:

Sometimes life gets on the way.
But at least you enjoyed them? Because that's what matters at the end of the day!

I really did enjoy them both! One was a fantasy book that was super funny and a pretty fresh in concept, the other one was about literature overall with many interesting facts about writers, linguistics, cultures and all other sorts on facts. Not to mention it was rich in quotes that I'll most probably use for prompts for blog posts or even just tabs on my future business website.

Still, I feel crappy about my reading. I need to start reading before bed instead of being on my phone until 3 am... :mcsweat:

I need reading before bed. It improves my sleep.
Staying on the computer/phone really messes with my sleep...

I switch off my computer and phone at 10 PM. I'm off.
It's time to get clothes ready for the next day, make sure the kitchen is a-ok (sometimes I leave something cooling down before freezing) and then head to bed to read comfortably in my pyjamas.
That's a routine I love.

I know it's healthy to turn all the electronics off at least an hour before going to sleep, but apparently I'm addicted or something :mcheh:
Truth be told, when I think about it, I usually distract myself with the Internet stuff to quiet down my brain. Otherwise I have a shit storm in my head. I should go to a doctor about it but right now I don't have the money. Once I start making some, it'll probably be one of the first things I'll get to.

Internet is a distraction, and sometimes that's a good thing.
Some books are a great distraction too. You can get so into them that you forget the world around you.
It used to happen to me when I was younger, but now not nearly as much. Maybe because the thing one worries about grow as you grow.

@Amura: Hah, good times, when I'd read all night and go to bed only when I noticed the sun rising :mclaugh: I feel old, saying that xD I haven't had that feeling for a while, that I'd like to read on, no matter what. I usually put the book away, and can forget about itfor days or weeks... or months, if I mean that poor book on HSPs that I can't seem to get back to since 2020 XD

@Sanssouci: Five opossums! :mcgasp: Are they young or injured?

One was young and injured when he came in but has since healed. The other four are just young. https://imgur.com/Vh9ZFX9
