Uh-oh...

I get so distracted sometimes and don't realize that I've done something xD

My mom and I went to the grocery store and bought a few things and I asked if I could get me one of those Starbucks coffees in the glass bottles and she said yes.
We got home and I grabbed the coffee and sat down to play my game a bit.
I forgot about my coffee and I went to open it by tearing the plastic seal off and I noticed there was no seal on it.
I couldn't remember if I had taken it off or not because I was busy playing my game and didn't remember...
I then went to ask my mom if she had opened it and she said no.
She told me if it was still unopened, it'd be fine for me to drink and it hadn't been opened yet so...

I do this with a lot of things, including taking my medications.
It's a mixture of getting distracted and having a bad memory.
Sometimes I can't remember if I took my meds or not and it bugs me ._.

I also tend to forget I'm holding stuff. Like once it's in my hand, I will forget about it completely.
And I mean...I have to force my muscles and stuff to hold it, but I forget about it xD
That's why I always hand stuff to my mom at the store because there's a good chance I'd walk out with it.
I would never steal, I'd seriously just forget I'm holding it and be like "Oh shit uB"

Do you get distracted easily?
Do you forget doing stuff easily?

I've done that with my meds a fair amount lately. I don't even have an excuse as I have a 1 week dosage container to use but I frequently don't because I'm too lazy to sit there and sort out a week's worth at one time. :mcsweat:

Wow, you still post stuff like this. Hi :D

I'm seriously absent-minded. I get distracted so much, especially when I'm studying or doing something I don't particularly like. That said, all that absent-mindedness goes right out the window when I'm cooking or baking something nice.

I'm extremely absentminded with assignments and papers I have to write for college. I'm constantly stressed about it especially if I can't think of anything to say or write, because I don't have existing research or theories to fall back on... and then because thinking about what I could say in the essay gets me nowhere and only gets me stressed, I STOP thinking about it... but it's not even a conscious decision. So before I know it I've distracted myself with other things and procrastinated the day away and the deadline is looming. Facepalms.

I have a very bad memory.

And there have been a couple times when my mother picked up a purse at a store, put it on her shoulder while she walked around, forgot she had it, and walked out of the store with it. Nothing expensive since she wouldn't even pick up an expensive purse to consider it in the first place but still.

Moi, that is a MOOD. Which is why I put stuff in a specific place. If it's in its place, and I need it again later? Guaranteed to find it. but if a housemate moves it, then I lose track of it and have to waste time searching for the thing. I've explained this to said housemate numerous times, but she doesn't care, she just wants the house to be clutter-free 24/7. super annoying. but that's a difference in how our brains work.

I have freaked out looking for my phone when I had it in my hand talking to someone.

I'm definitely one who needs to have things in specific places. I also like things to be label side facing forward -- especially the spice rack.

See, that's just smart organization. How are you gonna be able to tell the difference between stuff if the label's not facing the right way, and the cupboard's not lit well?
